The finale of this show drives me crazy. It is on TV now that is why I am thinking about it.
So she goes to Paris, and after a week she is all sad and depressed. Maybe, granted she shouldn't have gone with this guy to Paris. And I don't really like her as a character so maybe I am bit harsh with her. But seriously, she could have signed up for a language class or tried to make new friends with other expats.
Her shoe and shopping habit could have given her at least a month of things to do in Paris before she got homesick or depressed! I loved the show but her character annoyed me so much. So freaking whiny!
Yeah, I love the show, but really hate every individual characte which makes me wonder why I love the show. The one I can most get on board with is Charlotte, but all of them seem very unrealistic to me and I never liked that. I did enjoy watching them all do silly things and yelling at the tv that life doesn't work like that.
I started re-watching the show a month or so ago. I stole the login for HBO to Go from my parents. Before that I only ever watched the dumbed down version on regular cable.
But from what I remember from the ending. Yes she is an complete idiot.
I finally ended up watching the second one (on a plane I think) and I never finished it. It was so ridiculous that it made the rest of the show seem completely sane.
I liked the show back in the day but was not obsessed like some of my friends. I guess it all seems like a lot of pre-Recession frivolity to me now. It's like a snapshot of an America of carefree materialistic excess. That said, I enjoyed the series and would watch an occasional rerun. I didn't really have a favorite character. I saw the first movie but barely remember it. I was too busy to go to the second.
I like the show. And I even liked the first movie (predictable, definitely, but enjoyable). But the second one was not only ridiculous, it was down right insulting. Don't ever see it. Terrible.
As to the shows finale, I was upset by the Paris thing too. Probably because I see a bit of my relationship with DH in Petroksky (or whatever they called him). She definitely wasn't in it for the right reasons.
Sex and the city 2 is easily the worst film I have ever watched. I saw it in a hotel in Edinburgh. I was in disbelief that they made it. No plot, and actually pretty offensive to gender and race. I beg anyone considering watching it to rethink.

I didnĀ“t much care for SATC the first couple of times I saw it, but then I was hooked. I could identify with a lot of the things Charlotte said and did, though not everything. I think that was the point, that women could identify with one of the characters to some degree, and the importance of friendship. Because really these women went through thick and thin together. I enjoyed the first movie, though I thought it was very predictible, but number 2 was just horrid. Horrid. Disgusting and I was so bummed after I went to see it.
I loved the TV show and watched it several times. The ending annoyed me and the ending of the 1st movie annoyed me even more (like all women can only be happy when they're married or something?). I didn't see the 2nd movie after so many people told me to run away quickly!!

I have never watched the show or the movies. I saw half an episode once and didn't see the appeal, so I can't really comment. That said...I do love shoes!
