Jen I remember those days! Once she could sit back down by herself after standing up was when she started to be a good sleeper.
We just left Amelia's Dr. Last week she had her 15 month checkup and she got the MMR vaccine and amoxicillin for her ears. Then she started with a rash and I thought it was from the vaccine but turns out its from the antibiotic and it's all good. Not contagious, not worrisome. Whew. I was so paranoid about measles and me being first tri. But he said she's clear for play dates.
we are doing pretty well. we both have a cold, which sucks. it is so pathetic hearing a tiny baby cough. she sleeps, but still doesn't like to be put down - need to work on that. other than that, i can't believe she will be 1 month on thursday! time is flying.
My girls are speaking in sentences! Abby (the copy cat) said, "I yove you." last week. We taught them where their knees and elbows are. I hear, "no ma'am." "I get it." And they say all the Yo Gabba Gabba character, so ww decided that was their birthday theme. I am so blown away that I have two two year olds.
So far I like this SAHM business. I miss reading, but it is better than missing them.
My MIL is watching them Tuesday thru Sunday, so that I can pack and clean. We load up our truck a week later, and then we move into our townhouse.
Also, I have $54 left to pay off on my first woven wrap. I cannot wait to get it in and start breaking it in!
Ellie is finally getting over her cold. The doctor's office probably thinks I'm crazy because she got a really bad cough for the first time with this one, including this gasping thing in between coughs that I swear sounded exactly like those pertussis commercials. So I was convinced she had whooping cough even though she's been vaccinated and took her in to their office twice for what apparently is just a lingering cold. I think that was my first real episode of the crazy though, and it took a year to get here, so I think I'm doing pretty good. And she's doing much better now!
In more exciting news, she took her first steps this weekend! Naturally it was one of the few waking hours in any given week that I wasn't with her, so my H got to witness it and I missed it. I've seen her do it since, though. So, yay! Soon she'll be a real live toddler!
I've got a late talker. Dangit. I had a feeling since she was such an early walker. She's 15.5 months and all she says is "hi". I've heard other sporadic words like shoe, tree, and doggie, but not consistently. She understands everything and communicates well without words. And she babbles and makes noises all day (lots of screeches, wonder where she gets that? Oh, me!) This is where I wish I had gone back for speech therapy like I wanted to 10 years ago. I guess I won't get concerned until 2, but I want to hear her voice!!!

Sara- don't stress. I took T for a speech eval at 18 months and he "doesn't qualify" for services because he has supportive parents. We have been fighting for the last 2 months to try and get him help because he doesn't talk, He grunts, won't respond to his name regularly etc. he is very smart if he sees a familiar object such as a tooth brush and will "brush" his teeth if I hand it to him. He knows how to put his shirt and shorts on etc.
In other baby news I hit 38 weeks tomorrow and Owen is still feeling rather comfy. I am progressing normally and having the occasional contraction. I won't let them schedule an Induction until I hit 42 weeks and they are ok with that as long as I continue to have NST and Owen is doing fine. I am trying to get everything organized as best as we can so if history repeats itself we are ready for a baby this week.

I got my BB Slen today! It's awesome! I am so awkward with it though. I really can't wait to get proficient!
You should comer to a baby wearing meet up. They have them in South Tampa pretty regularly. I always go to the USF ones. If you feel like making the trek all the way out here, I am going to my last one on the 29th. It is only mylast one because we move on the 1st. There are usually other kids Zoe's age to play with and you can get lots of help with carries and someone can help you figure out how to nurse in a carry. I am going to miss these women so much when we move!
We had Shane baptized this past weekend. He did so well, but he loves bath time so I'm not really surprised.
He had his first fever this weekend. I called the on-call nurse to see what I should give him and the proper dose, and I learned that under 12 weeks anything over 100.4 was a trip to the ER. He held steady at 100.3 for awhile, held still in the 99's yesterday and back in the 98 range today. The pedi had us come in yesterday, just to make sure his ears/nose/throat/chest looked good, and I'm so happy with the doctor we're seeing now.
Other than that, starting to send my resume out, and need to stop by the daycare later this week to discuss a somewhat fluid start date for daycare.

I think I will come to the USF one on the 29th! I would love to see you before you leave and finally meet the Geese! I really need to learn how to nurse in it. It's kinda tricky for sure! I practiced some different wraps and it got slightly less awkward but I know it will take lots of practice. I am excited about it though!

oh, yay! That will be fun! I will request to add you to the group on face book.
Tardy to the party. Mia is doing great, we started the transition to WCM this week. So far, so good, so hopefully her stupid milk protein allergy has left the building. Only one more week of bottles at daycare and then she gets moved to the toddler room where no bottles are allowed. I'm excited and sad all at the same time.
Heather - I'm so glad his fever came down, I think at the ER if they have a fever of 100.4 at that age it is an automatic spinal tap...that scared the bejeezus out of me when I heard that. Now that he got it out of his system, no more of those! Good luck w/your job search!
I am here and still pregnant. I had an ultrasound this morning and all is well. The baby had a HB of 178 so things are good there. However, my doc told me that I will see the nurse practitioner from now until the last month of my pregnancy. Umm, what? Last appointment you were talking about me transferring to a high risk doctor. I am thinking of finding a new OB but I hate to switch doctors at this point but I don't feel comfortable meeting with a NP from now until October. Plus my BFF who is pregnant (without any miscarriage history or complications) and she only meets with him (we have the same doctor). Her baby is due in Aug and hasn't seen the NP yet. Am I being unreasonable for only wanting to meet with a doctor?
In other news, I am feeling pretty crappy. The thought of making it to 12 weeks before I feel better is overwhelming But I am happy to be pregnant so I am trying to keep perspective.

I'd want to be seen by the doctor - and it would be enough to make me change. Didn't you have issues with them in the past? Maybe about a referral? Maybe I'm confused
You are early in your pregnancy, Kathy, I would switch, if seeing the Doctor is super important to you. Do you have a lot of options there? I always imagine everywhere in Texas as barren land and tumbleweeds, so I have no idea what you have in the way of OBs there. (I have a friend who lives in El Paso, and she says it is pretty much nothing and that is why she goes to the grocery store/commissary, Baby Cafe, and her bedroom. That's it.)

Kathy, I'm glad to see your update. I was wondering how things were going. If I were you, I would definitely look into a new OB. I think it seems very odd given your history not to be seen by the doctor himself. Wanting to be is not unreasonable in my opinion.
Meghan, yay for Ellie's first steps! And Heather, glad Shane is doing better. Scary!
I'm getting more uncomfortable lately and waking up unable to go back to sleep way too early everyday, but doing fine. This morning Beckett woke with a low grade fever, after coughing through the night. He seemed like he wasn't feeling that bad all morning, but he spiked a 103.5 temp this afternoon, which is the highest he's ever had. Strep was negative, and it is something viral. Hopefully he won't get worse and Maisy doesn't get it either.
Great update Kathy! Except the NP thing. That seems weird. My office doesn't even have a NP. There are like 10 Drs and you have to rotate through all of them during your pregnancy. So even if I wanted to just see one Dr only that's not even possible, much less mot a Dr. Is there another practice you can get to? You just want to make sure you can get in time for your nuchal test, if you choose to do that. Mine will be May 8th. Fun that your BFF is pregnant also! I have a very good friend who I'm practically sharing a due date with but she's still in the closet bc she's superstitious, so I can't share names with our friends. Ahhhhh.
