How are you doing?? I am finally back on the wagon - I did a cleanse over the weekend that a friend was raving about giving her tons of energy. Not only was it nasty, I lost 5 pounds and then gained them back this morning.
Whatever.
I am back to just eating healthy and watching portions.
Question for everyone - What do you find works best to avoid giving in when you are being tempted? Those moments where you just want to eat everything in the house, or binge on chocolate, or order that dessert. When you have no self control and all you can think about is "FOOOOOOOD"
I am finding that for me, praying and reading my bible helps a lot. It calms me down and gets me to focus on something besides food. And for me I know I usually get those sudden strong cravings because I am having a negative emotion like stress or sadness. Turning to God for my stress relief is a much better idea than turning to food.
Share what works for you! I also brush my teeth after supper and that helps stop the evening munchies because my mouth is all clean and minty.
Nothing makes me stop feeling hungry but EATING. But as my appetite has no bounds, I just try to ignore the cravings. If I gave in to my urges to eat whenever they occur, I'd be big as a barn. I'd eat all day. It's like a never-ending compulsion. There is a huge amount of self-denial in losing weight and keeping it away, that's for SURE. I'm glad scriptures help you. Maybe I'll try that. I know the Bible does warn about gluttony. Brushing, flossing, mouthwash and gum don't help.
