Does anyone know what the deal is with this box that shows up on some flight search web sites asking to be checked if you are "resident/large family"? Must I be both to click it? Do I qualify as a resident if I have my "carte de sejour," basically, my extended visa verifying I don't have tuberculosis, have been vouched for by DH's company and can stay in the country for the next year?
I wonder if the resident bit is talking about Canarias/Baleares residents, who do receive a discount on island-penninsula travel. Also, a "familia numerosa" is 3+ kids (or 2 if one has a severe disability). They get a number of discounts throughout Spain.
I have to wonder how well a scheme like that works. I know that, personally, the ability to save 10% on plane tickets is not enough to tip me into the "ok, I guess I can squeeze one more out" camp. But maybe that's just me.
