I have something similar that is called a little green pouch. I really like them because I can buy a huge thing of applesauce and fill them and then wash them and reuse.
If you do BLW, you won't need the pouches since baby does not eat purées. I think the concept is good, but unnecessary for my family.
Yes and no. I eat "grown up" food, but sometimes i eat applesauce... i think it could still be useful for traveling with snacks, even it if isn't a significant portion of the kid's diet.

This is what we do. It's easier to contain applesauce in one of these than the little cups. Plus no spoon necessary.
I still started her with purees but she didn't mind chunky food either. I never used pouches until our last trip to visit my family because the last time we went I still hadn't started feeding her solids at 7 months. Then I bought the Plum Organic ones and she loves them so much so that she wanted more. She still likes to eat finger food - peas, chunks of food etc. I did order the Sili pouch though so I can re-fill it all the time since she likes them. I figure it will be handy for snacks!
I looked at a ton of the different pouches and most of them have a zip-loc style seal which I didn't like because to my way of thinking if they throw it and it opens then you've got a huge mess. Not sure if that would actually happen but that's why I went with the Sili squeeze.

....i forget adults eat applesauce too. i never liked applesauce and the last time i remember eating it is when my teacher made me eat it in 3rd grade (came with our school lunch)...i generally don't eat puree'd food and wouldn't even think of it for me...
i guess these could work for adults, too.
and @jennuinne, i know in later stages of BLW, you can give baby a spoon and let them figure it out....but i've also gone a 8 months of BLW and never given her puree before..so i don't know if it's necessary.
