I'm okay with guns but agree we need tighter laws and that something has to change so this senseless shit stops. BUT your co-worker is a fucking moron. I hate the argument of "if only so and so was (were?) armed", everyone thinks they have the balls and are big and bad. Not only that but what do these people think they are going to do? Shoot someone who is shooting at someone else? That lands you in jail. I have found that LOTS of people who are all "guns for everyone! Everyone needs to be armed" usually don't read their castle doctrine laws and don't understand that you cannot just shoot people, just because you have a gun, and just because someone else is being harmed.

I'm trained to shoot at people and we've always been told that during an active shooter situation to get the hell out. Don't try and fight back. If that is what we as military members are supposed to do, why does some civilian who bought a gun on whim think he's gonna do.
