I probably would use them but I do know that while eggs can be left out once they have been in the fridge (like in the store) they should stay there. We get them from the Amish & they don't refridgerate (duh) so they told us it'd be fine if we didn't.
I personally would not use them, but if you are less strict about food safety than I am, you could crack one and see if it smells.
It's true that in many countries, eggs are not refrigerated. But during processing in the U.S., the eggs' natural protective coating is washed off.
lol, my parents researched that after their visit to Australia. They were very surprised eggs weren't kept in the fridge there. It used to freak me out, but I got used ot it.
It has also made me a little less concerned if eggs sit out for a little bit. And I'm like super food safety conscious.
In other words, even I think you're fine and I'm a little bit of a freak about things having any potential contamination.
I'm surprised that so many people say it's ok. I would have tossed them, but now I will have to rethink that next time I leave mine out. I'm guilty of making eggs in the morning and rushing out the door without remembering to put them back.
There's something about if they sweat, you should toss them. But almost anything that warms up is going to sweat, but I've left eggs out for awhile when baking something and needing room temp eggs. I'd grab however many and set them out with the butter to warm up.
I'd say that if you had left them out for a few days, toss.
Hell, I once forgot about MILK and let it out for a few hours, un-opened (brand new). I still used it for what I needed it for. But then I tossed it. Either way, milk is more unstable than eggs and I lived to tell you this incredibly boring story.
