T is in need of a hearing screen again. He passed his newborn screening, but due to some other indicators we have been advised to get his ears checked again.
He doesn't have a history of ear infections (he has had 1 double) or fluid in his ears, but we are trying to rule everything out for further evaluations.
Does anyone have recommendations? I know Alzi is an audiologist but did let know if anyone else had recommendations.
I personally feel that Pediatric Audiology should be a specialty, so going to someone who sees little kiddos all day every day is ideal. I usually recommend going to the Children's Hospital. I think Carolyn would have a recommendation for you too.
My practice sees kids - but with insurance, patients need to be seen by both the ENT and audiology. My colleague has a lot more experience with kids than I do, she could see him too if you wanted. PM me if you want details.
He is 20 months old. He will randomly walk around and stick his fingers in his ears even in a completely silent environment. I don't know of it is something is bothering him or a phase.
We have had his ears checked for fluid on several occasions and there doesn't appear to be any.
I was able to get in with an ENT and Audiologist that see children this coming Friday since we are trying to move quick on this but didn't know if we should find one that does pediatrics only.
who are you seeing? you don't HAVE to go to one that sees kids only, i just prefer it. technically i see kids - but i try not to because i don't feel i see them often enough to be really proficient with it.

We did St Joe's Pediatric Audiology. Betsy and Greg. I can't remember their last names. They were amazing and patient. All Children's has a pedi Audiology dept. as well but they wanted to do a ridiculous long eval with multiple providers, etc. and they just sore of irritated me. i was very happy with St Joe's.
