My pack n play comes with a tiny bassinet like attachment. They call it a Napper. Is there any reason why baby shouldn't sleep overnight in the napper? Last night was glorious. We put the pack n play by our bed & put D in the napper. He only woke up twice to eat, then straight back to sleep.
Honestly, that seems like a marketing strategy more than anything else. Q's was not like that, it didn't have the insert thing, but he's 4 and its amazing how much things have already changed. Just check the weight restrictions, plus that looks like something they probably shouldn't be in once they can roll and all that.
MH was concerned about him rolling to the side & suffocating. You know how they tell you to have them sleep on a firm surface & no soft objects & whatnot?
My girl slept in her bouncer for the first 3 months. If she would have slept in a pack n play then by god I would have let her. I'm a believer in trust your instincts. And in getting some sleep. It's not like you are leaving him in there and leaving. You are near by and I'm sure you are on alert even if you do get some restful sleep.

We had originally planned to use it with Kennedy, but because she has Down syndrome they warned us that her irway could be floppy, and to make sure nothing was constricting her neck. I felt like it bent her neck forward some, so we just laid her in the bassinet part.

We had the napper for Maisy, and I loved it. She slept better in that as a newborn than anything else, just the way it cradled her so well. For the first few months, she always napped in it (or her swing). She was in a real bassinet in our room for nighttime, but there were times she'd go several hours at night time in the napper when H and I passed out in exhaustion on the couch (we kept in the living room). I was sad when she outgrew it and we had to go to the regular bassinet insert for naps.
