How do I, a proboards question

Insert a link and have it appear as text?

The insert hyperlink only makes the link clicky for me. Am I going to have to use code?

To make it text, instead of just the link, I do this:
[*url=link here]Text[*/url] (without the *, obviously)

So you type it in, right? I was hoping for a button that would do it for me.

Yeah, you have to type it in, unfortunately. You can use the button in the full reply, but you have to modify it yourself.

I see blue text that says CNN, and when I click, it opens CNN.com.

You were trying to make it just read "w w w dot c n n dot com," with no linking, right?
