Really no biggie, I already had one in Sept and I had a HSG; I know what to expect. So why the F could I not sleep last night for worrying about it?
I am so worried that my cyst has got bigger/they find some other horrible thing wrong (fibroids/septum/insert any other thing I have googled here) with my uterus that further delays my IVF. I have lucky socks and lucky underwear on - that should cover me, right?
On a positive note - my boss just emailed me and I got a 7% raise!!!!! Holy crap, I was NOT expecting that and much needed for ivf!
I totally get it. Every time I go in for an u/s I worry about if the cysts are still there. I'm more nervous about what they will find, not the procedure itself.
Good luck today! And congrats on that raise! That's awesome

Update - no cysts and everything else is fine! So relieved. I start lupron on May 15th which is soooooo far away. I joked with the nurse that I am on the extremely looooooooong lupron protocol instead of just the "long" one.
I had one a few weeks ago. Have you had an HSG? Its similar in set up.
The dr inserts a catheter through the cervix and pushes saline (I believe) into the uterus to check for fibroids, polyps etc. As she did it she watched it on the ultrasound machine. I had a vag u/s. Mine was relatively painless. About equal to getting a pap done. Dr said I could have minor cramping after, but I didn't.
Also take ibuprofen before hand. As a precaution, since everyones pain tolerance and experience is different they usually recommed that.
No I didn't. I put a light pad on after my hsg since that was dye, but I didn't with the sono. If I did leak it was so minor I never noticed. My tubes are wide open though and my dr said most the saline went straight out them.
Like I said I was lucky in that I had no cramping or pain after. I know everyones experience varies though. Hopefully one of the other girls will share their experience so get another point of view.

@mnh2013 Honestly it is not comfortable. However, it is bearable. Mine was also all clear. I did wear a big pad for the rest of the day but didn't really notice any leakage.
Try and relax through it - It really isn't "that" bad but definitely more uncomfortable than screaming bloody murder painful. good luck!
