Questions about injections

I did my first injection last night, with gonal F 75. Inserting the needle didn't hurt at all, but then I was having a really hard time pushing down the plunger. It felt stuck. I had to use both hands just to move it. Meanwhile I was also feeling pain under the skin, and I was not sure if it was caused by the medicine going in or the needle poking around. Sorry to be graphic. I was very slow doing the injection, and if I pushed too quickly the pain got worse. Was this normal? Did anyone else experience anything similar?

Hi Dana, yes the gonal pen was kind of hard to push in from what I remember, also it really doesn't go far in like a regular syringe.

I don't remember feeling any pain under the skin but you may have hit a blood vessel? Did you have any bruising?

Hi Iced. No I didn't have any bruising. Maybe I was just extra sensitive seeing a needle there.

I did not experience that. Probably no big deal, but if it happens again I'd check in with the nurse.
