I got my hair done yesterday. I chickened out of the lavender but I went super bright red. I am in love with it. The dye transferred to my ears and neck and now they're all funny colored. I showered last night and the washcloth looked like it was covered in blood.
I went to the fabric store with my mom yesterday, I had a bunch of fabric in my cart and when we got to the register she took everything out of my cart and paid for it. I don't need more fabric but I am in love with all the things I got yesterday!

HGTV (and DIY, for that matter) are really fucking addictive. I'm currently obsessed with Salvage Dawgs.
I looked more into opening my own baking business and decided to just stick with the blog for now. I found out I can't have a home based business because I have cats (no free roaming animals allowed). I could rent a commercial kitchen (from a fire hall, church or something) but I just don't want to get into that.

I've had a pretty serious case of the fuck-its for the past few days. I wish I had called in. There are fun things happening this weekend though, so I'm hoping that helps.
There were cupcakes yesterday, and I ate three of them. Regrets! Too much sugar makes my stomach hurt. Bummertown.

Good luck Gault! If the big bank's name begins with a 'u' you will love it there.
Now that we've moved I won't see workplace crush nearly as much as before He hates the building we moved to so is avoiding his new office, they finished it out really nicely too.
I can't use my bathroom until next week. It seems no one informed the plumbing people that we were movng in so they didn't have an opportunity to update things--and now they have leaks all over on the floor below us.

I was going to wear a skirt to work today, but realized after putting it on that I don't have any shirts that look good with it... I changed my shirt about 5 times before giving up. But by that point I'd already taken time to wrestle myself into a pair of nylons, so I wasn't taking them off! I wore a dress instead. I'm feeling pretty fancy, but my shoes are about a half a size too big so my feet slip out of them when I walk so I look fancy AND uncoordinated.
captainmel, it's awesome! And it really compliments your skin tone. Thumbs up.
Thanks Gault! I've done red before but I've never been this red. I love the lady that does my hair. She charges $25 for a cut and color and she does an amazing job!
Eeeee. Just had the interview, she told me it was more of an admin support role BUT she was very happy to hear I was looking to develop and move up, since they promote/hire from within more than 30% of the time. Made it sound like I was a shoo-in for round two.

Thanks PS! Gault, that is so exciting! I really want you to get a great job at home.
Here is another random. Boyfriend and I have super exciting, super nerdy date night plans tonight. We are going to see Star trek TNG's Best of Both Worlds Part one and two in HD in a movie theatre.

I'm kind of annoyed with myself right now. DS told me that he wanted to give his dad cupcakes for his birthday... I wasn't planning on doing anything for H today aside from dinner, but DS insisted and I caved. Now I'm stuck making these awesome sounding Chocolate Fudge cupcakes with Peanut Butter Buttercream Icing that I can't even eat... I don't understand why I made them chocolate. He's probably not even going to appreciate it anyway.

Thanks Starries and Neon! You all are making me feel pretty today.
Starries, if he doesn't say thanks for those cupcakes you should wait until he falls asleep and then shove a couple in his face. Then keep the rest and come share them with us. Then we will appreciate your hard work.

Well, in all honesty, this is probably the last time I will ever make cupcakes for him whether he appreciates them or not, so it's really not that big of a deal... I will either be reminded of WHY I never make cupcakes for him, or I will know that I was the bigger person and did something nice for him even though I didn't really want to.
I'm just being bitter childish, I think, because I didn't even get a card on my birthday from him and now I'm making cupcakes and he's got his whole bowling birthday party thing and he's been hinting about presents I should get him for over a month. He's getting cupcakes and that's it from me.

No, no. The cupcakes are from DS. He is getting nothing from you.

You make a good point, Muddled. I wouldn't be making cupcakes if DS hadn't insisted.
I'm still a little annoyed that I decided to do chocolate... I know the whole point was to make them for H, and chocolate is HIS favorite, but I kind of want one now... I'm totally licking the bowl once they're frosted.
As for the recipe, it's nothing super fancy. I bought a boxed cake mix for them. But I am making the frosting from scratch... If it turns out well, I'll share. I don't want to share some "fabulous" recipe that I've never tried only to have it taste like monkey butts. I'll report back tomorrow on that.
Also, you should let DS help you make them. Please make sure he doesn't mix up the sugar and the salt.
DS helps cook pretty much everything I make. He's pretty good in the kitchen for a 3 (almost 4) year old and even has his own "kitchen stool". He's really excited about making frosting tonight, I don't think I could hold him back if I wanted to.
Gault, I hope you get a second interview, and that you find a job that's right for you.
Starrie, I can't wait until you get away from that asshat. Also, I'm wishing you lived down the street so I could take the excess cupcakes off your hands.
I'm feeling wiped out from this week. I want to hide out at home and read a book instead of go out and do anything this weekend.

My kids the same way. LOVES to help me "cook" and "bake". Yesterday morning I was getting ready for work and he pulled the mixer off the bottom shelf, grabbed a mixing bowl and a whisk. I don't know what he was making, but it was the cutest thing ever.
And I agree with Muddled, it's a present from his son, not from you. But you should mix up the salt and the sugar. Then H will have to pretend to love them just to make your son happy, mwahahahahaha!
"They're too salty? Oh I'm sorry, I guess we put too much salt in the salted carmel".
DD likes to help me start to cook, then she flits off because she's bored. DS #1 will stay and help the whole time, he loves watching how things are made and feeling helpful.
My sister and I are celebrating our birthday tomorrow night! DH is already whining because we got a hotel room downtown so we don't have to come back after being at a bar or three. But the kids will be at camp grandma so he can watch season 2 of the wire and GOT without any interruption at all. But he's still being a little sad panda about it.
