I found Ray-Bans I liked at Bloomingdale's today, and bought them. They were $155 + tax.
I just looked them up on Amazon and they have the ones I bought for $97, or the polarized versions (that retail for $200 according to the Ray-Ban website) for $117. So I'm tempted to return to Bloomie's and get the polarized ones on Amazon.
They appear to be sold directly by Amazon -- not a third-party seller on Amazon.
Is there any reason to doubt their authenticity? This is the link:
The reviewers checked them and said they are real, so they probably are? Also, being sold right from Amazon, I would think Ray Ban would not allow them to use the name if they weren't?
I'd buy and compare at the very least. Since they're being sold Prime and shipped through Amazon directly, not a sketchy 3rd party, I'd say chances are they're real.
I got a pair of Maui Jim's from Amazon for H after he left his old pair at an airport a few years ago. It was also almost half the price. It never occurred to me that they might be fake. They look, feel and wear the same so I assume they are authentic.
Sunglass Hut has friends and family events once or twice a year if you would rather wait and know that you're getting the real thing. I think it was 40% off the last time I got a pair from them. But I can't imagine Amazon selling fakes themselves when they crack down on people selling fake name brands all the time.
