The weather was gorgeous today, so after C went to bed, H and I sat on the deck and drank wine. So, I'm a little tipsy.
Random thoughts I'm having - sorry cville, I know there are several random threads going now. I'm making this about MEEEE.
- H's cousin emailed me today asking to "pick my brain" on our industry. (She and I very loosely do similar things.) In her message, she mentioned that she doesn't like working almost 50 hour weeks because she has no incentive for promotion. Um, almost 50 is on the low end of what she could expect if she moved to a different company. I'm also flummoxed at the idea that she doesn't want to put the time in unless she'll move above. Sometimes the work is what's required of the job.
- my H turns 40 on Friday. Just wow. It seems like such a milestone and he barely cares. Good for him, I guess.
- I'm kinda ready to TTC now. Our current plan has us waiting until summer/fall for no better reason than when this kid's birthday would fall.
- I'm pissed that I had to buy new tires yesterday. If I'm honest with myself, I'd say it was definitely time. The only push was the puncture wound one tire receive pulling on to our street. Thanks, random contractor building our neighbors' deck.
- I loved meeting SueSue @cse1960 last weekend and now want to meet and connect with other people on here. I'm formulating my short list. Two people spring to mind instantly.
Man my mind is all over the place. Feel free to comment on any of the above or ask another question.

Well, I wanted to say that I've been watching your weight loss ticker and am impressed with what you've accomplished! Good for you.....
My H also turned 40 in Feb...it makes me feel better because I'm 46.5 and sometimes I feel like he is such a baby. Did you all do anything special for his 40th?
cerealkilah! I really had such a good time meeting you! Did I let on how shocked I was that that tea cost 55 dollars at Teavana? OMG. I nearly choked. I gave it to a client.
You did not - well played! Hopefully the client sees it as goodwill paid forward!!

Aw - thanks! H has really been on board with the lifestyle changed, which has helped immensely.
I keep reminding H that he's older than I am. I'm sure that will get tired soon. No real special plans. Same as we usually do - go to a local horse racing track to watch live racing and the Kentucky Derby. We talked about going to the actual Kentucky Derby, but since he went once before, and the cost is INSANE, we decided to pass.
Two plus weeks from now, he's taking me to a Kevin Smith "show", so we'll call that a treat for us both.
