goddamn, can I just say how grateful I am to be a fucking adult where I can write a fucking note to someone and not have a third party step in, take it from us, and read it. Fuck.

Well, your post title says you don't know what to do, and you say the same thing in your actual post. As a school counselor this really shouldn't even be a question. You continue to make me scratch my head and wonder how in the world you managed to become a counselor.

If I was the teacher I would of took the note and that would of been it. The student came to see me because she knew the teacher sent it to me. The teacher also wanted me to investigate who the note came from. I am certainly not telling. It's ridiculous!

You love me? Do you want to be my friend? Well then don't be afraid to take me by the hand, if you want to. I think think this is how love goes. Check yes or no.

I should have worded the title differently. I am a school counselor and do my job very well. So you can stop scratching your head.

I agree, do nothing. I had a similar situation happen when a student was pregnant and hadn't told anyone, so I waited for her to tell me. Be reassured by the fact that she has peers with whom she can confide.

Do you know what would be appropriate in this situation? Holding an inservice for the teachers and staff on what is appropriate behavior with the community of students who are thinking they are gay or otherwise.

That is a good idea. I have to discuss that with my principal.
On Friday a teacher took a note a student had. The note was thanking the student for being there and that she appreciates the help, but does not want to come out to anyone yet. Today, I spoke to the student who received the note and she told me who wrote the note and to please not tell the other student. The student who wrote the note comes by my office all the time and told me she felt safe with me. She has a lot of behavior problems and very low self esteem so I am the only one she trusts. I want to say something to the student but I can't break the trust with the other student. I don't know what to do. Any advice?
Hopefully you understood that!
I edited the title!
You edited more than the title. None of this changes anything about what people said, however.
Look, I'm going to be nice for a second, but you need to figure out how to post your shit on here. You MUST use appropriate grammar or no one will take you seriously. I know you say you post from your phone a lot, but so do a lot of other people and most are able to type "have" instead of "of." It is ridiculous. People question your intelligence and actual profession AND PROFESSIONALISM because you can't seem to get your shit together when posting.
I can't even figure out how many students we're talking about, who's not coming out, and who isn't supposed to know.
BUT, for goodness sake, as a counselor I would hope that you already understand how important confidentiality is in your position. You can't go around blabbing student secrets unless there's something like abuse involved.

I did not tell anyone anything. I worded it completely wrong. I wanted to know if anyone had any similar stories. I was wrong!!
