@-R -- Experience with threatened miscarriage?

I had some abdominal pain at work yesterday, late morning, which I assumed was round ligament pain, but around 4 in the afternoon, I started bleeding, a lot.

OB's office told me to go to the ER. They did an u/s and saw the baby happily kicking away, with a strong heartbeat.

Anyway, I'm still scared. Nothing like this happened last time. Anyone else experience a threatened m/c? What was the outcome of the pregnancy?

During my pregnancy with DS2, I had a partial placenta abruption. Lots of bleeding, clots, cramping, etc. I was convinced I was miscarrying for weeks and the doctors told me that it was likely to happen but there was nothing they could do but proscribe as much rest as possible. It eventually resolved itself though and I had a normal third trimester and delivery. Good luck, I hope everything works out for you!

A friend of mine had something similar happen - they never did figure out exactly what it was. Theories were along the lines of a polyp or something with a blood vessel on top of it ruptured.

Her baby is now a chubby, sassy little 3 year old.

Fingers crossed for you that it's similarly nothing!

I was bleeding heavily at about 7 weeks. I stayed in the hospital about 5 days and then was sent home. I'm meant to take it easy for awhile and am now 13 weeks and had no bleeding since. They also gave me progesterone.

Hugs to you. It sucks and is really scary.

Thanks, guys. Yeah, it was scary. I was crying in the car (in rush hour), driving to the hospital.

My mom was able to get DS from daycare so S.O. could be with me at the hospital, which helped. So did my funny ER doctor.

This happened to me at around 9 weeks.

I have a happy, healthy 2yo. I didn't have any other bleeding during the pregnancy. She was born a little early, at 35 weeks, but that was unrelated.

I experienced that with my last pregnancy but at 6-8 weeks. I hope it resolves quickly for you!

I had bleeding during pregnancy too. It was scary. Turns out I had a subchorionic hematoma. Everything turned out fine.

That happened to me. I had major, gross bleeding for a day and then it tapered off and after maybe 2 days it was over. It was a SCH (subchorionic hematoma). Sometimes the bleeding episodes return but mine was just that one time. I was paranoid the rest of the pregnancy, but everything turned out just fine. It dissolved on its own eventually. Did they say your cervix was closed?

I had something similar happen at 13 weeks with kid 3. They had me come in for an ultrasound and felt it was a blood clot, so no big deal. It had not happened with the other two kids and of course DH was out of town. I was very upset but it went away in a day or two and never came back. There were no other problems and my son was born full term at 10 lbs 9oz. I hope you have the same outcome, well maybe a smaller kid but the babies on this board have been large lately.

My mom had one with me. She started bleeding a lot. She rested over the weekend and saw the OB on Monday. There I was completely ok...and here I am today! ((( hugs)))

Wawa my second child was 10 lbs 13oz. My oldest daughter was only 6 lbs 9oz but was 4 weeks early.

DS was 5 lbs 15 oz, and was only two weeks early.  *-) Apparently, I make small babies.

Thanks, everybody. Today was thankfully uneventful. I took it easy at work (which isn't hard, since I have a desk job), had a couple of mild cramps, and no more bleeding.
