I opened the pantry to throw something away, and one was scurrying out of the trash can!
DH couldn't catch it, and it took off under the fridge. Looks like we'll be getting some traps, and some help to move the fridge to look for the holes.
Eeek! That would scare the crap out of me. I guess it's time to call a pest control company to get rid of them. I have cats, and I know they would just watch the mice and possibly bat at them.
Ugh, sorry. My parents had mice when I was living at home and it was so gross (a neighbor tore up their deck and I think they disturbed the mice's nest). We had a gigantic family dog that just watched them scurry around and she did nothing about it.
Do you keep the dog's kibble out in the open? Try not to leave food in the dog's dish, and if you have a paper bag of food then transfer it into a sealed container.
Can you borrow a friend's cat for a few days? We saw a mouse in our garage but thankfully we never saw it/poop in the house. We have two cats and I read that sometimes mice won't even enter a home if they can smell a cat.
