tonight - the kids have their first t-ball game after school. Probably will get dinner after and get L home to get to bed early and get ready for her walk tomorrow.
Sat/Sun - L is going to be walking about 8-9 hrs on Sat and about 5 hrs on Sun. The kids and I are going to traipse around the city to cheer her on. I am nervous about parking/timing/etc. I tried to talk L into getting a Hotwire hotel room for Sat night, but she wants to sleep/shower in her own house.
We have a new placement so we will be snuggling him and attempting to sleep a litttle. Ha! I am hilarious. Last night I got about 3 hours...and not in a row. He's worth it though. So tiny!
Tonight we don't have anything planned. Tomorrow we have ballet and ice skating lessons and a few errands to run. Sunday is TBD.

Maybe you said it before and I missed it, but what is L walking for? (I assume some sort of charity walk?) That's a hell of a lot of walking. I was exhausted just traipsing myself around to cheer B on for the 10k she did last fall - I can't imagine going several places over so many hours with two kids in tow!
I don't know. My wife is working OT all weekend (she's working OT every weekend day this month except Mother's Day). Tonight maybe family movie night.
That's a whole lotta working hours on the weekend. I assume yay for the money, but I'm sorry you won't get to spend more time together. Do you work M-F?

How did this not get it's own AW post? Is he anticipated to be short term or long term? Enjoy the snuggles!

My weekend was planned to be 3-day, now turned 4-day. Tonight we're going to our favorite B&B down the shore and spending 3 days relaxing - reading books on the beach, checking out lingering Sandy damage, wandering shops, and relaxing. The B&B we love does a pre-season deal in May where you buy two nights and get one free, so we've done this several years. We skipped last year because the timing and finances were tight with TTC stuff, but the timing works at this point we have to keep living our lives, so we're doing it. However, usually this weekend involves a whole lot of eating and this year we're going to eat the (delicious) breakfast provided at the B&B but try to keep Whole 30 approved for the other meals so as not to fall too far off track. But regardless, I am very pumped for this weekend. Even though it's too cold to swim it feels like the season opener for summer. And being close to the shore is one of the things I do really like about living in this area of the country.

Yes, we both work M-F. She has a lot of mandatory OT, some stuff she just can't get done if she doesn't work weekends, plus she's in the EMT/firefighter batallion and has to put in hours for that, too. It is good financially (she gets 1.5x Saturdays and 2x Sundays), but it's tough. At least she works really early so she'll be home by mid-afternoon, but it definitely affects what we can do as a family and our time together. Of course she's up for a promotion that would change everything if she gets it since it would send her back to third shift.

It is the Avon Breast cancer walk. She walks 26.2 miles the first day and 13.1 the second day. I am really stressing about traipsing around the city with the kids in tow (not about safety, but 2 tired kids/trying to figure out timing to see L/finding parking/etc.) I have already scoped out a $20/day parking garage for the end of the walk festivities and we may be taking a cab or 2!
Tomorrow we're taking lunch to a lesbian couple expecting B/G twins in a week or two - our doula sent us their info and asked if we could be a support for them and answer questions. After that we might come back here for naps or if the kids are in a good mood we might try the zoo for the first time. No plans in the evening. I might secretly ask my mom if her and my dad could watch the kids so we can go to a movie Saturday night.
Jen has brunch plans on Sunday and the babies and I might go to my parents' to have brunch and hang out with Grandpa before he goes to work. Otherwise no plans. Our house needs some deep cleaning we have been putting off, so...we'll probably keep putting that off.

I remember you posting about the 3rd shift the other day. Yech. But promotion is good! Several years ago I worked a job where a weekend shift was required - I got pretty lucky with a Sunday evening shift so I still basically got to have a weekend, but it still felt draining to not get all of it. A mid-week day off was nice though. I get annoyed that DW has to work extra time in the evenings (she's salaried so there's no pay for this, just expected to get the job done) but I'd flip if her boss made her come in regularly on weekends.

That's a whole lot of walking, wow. Your parking plan plus cabs sounds like a good idea. Are they having a bunch of increased security? The 5-boro NYC bike tour or whatever it's called is this weekend and I have heard that the security is going to be crazy tight. As in no bags are being allowed on the race course, including those camel back water bottles that bikers use all the time. In fact the lovely cop who wouldn't take my theft report yesterday told me all about how he was not looking forward to working it and making people throw out their water bottles.
Tonight - Tonight is movie night and mac n cheese night. I have been making all M's fave foods that aren't allowed on our challenge we start next week and this is the last one on the list. In light of all the new discussion of solid foods for babies, I am in research mode so I will probably do some more reading on that while we watch the movie. Especially since part of our 4 month appointment coming up is a discussion of solids.
Sat - Some quick house cleaning while the boys nap so here is to hoping they will nap in their room as our room is one of the rooms that is bad. Laundry and some work on the patio furniture I am building. I need to get to the grocery store so I am hoping I can do it during one of their naps. So excited to get out into my wood shop!
Sun - No real plans other than more work on the furniture, a walk with the boys and food prep for the week. I found M's mother's day present so while she runs her errands on Sunday I am going to get the boys hand prints done for it (customizable coffee mug that says my hands fit perfectly in yours).

Um yes... Duchess1 we need more info! (if you are able to share) Yay for baby snuggles!
E is with her dad for the weekend. Last night when E and I were having dinner, I got a text that "she wants to stay home with him tomorrow" (today). Um...no...she has school, their math tests are on Fridays. When I text that info back his reply was: Your (sic) absolutely right, its better not to spend time with her dad. OMG drama/control freak queen...let me off this train please. Thankfully when E was getting ready for bed and mentioned that he wanted her to stay home with him, I reminded her of her math test and party invites she needs to give out and she said oh no mommy, I have to go to school! I am not about to be the parent to encourage skipping school...thanks I'll take the mean mommy title if that's what I have earned.
Tonight: A has the weekend off. Woohoo! We are meeting a skydiving coach at the wind tunnel for some coaching. Afterwards we'll grab dinner and drinks out and enjoy some time together.
Tomorrow/Sunday: The weather is supposed to be warm and gorgeous all weekend. We are heading out for our first skydives of the year! Then we'll stay at a place close to the drop zone and possibly go again on Sunday morning before we head back to reality and A has to go back to work on Sunday night.
