I don't want to bartend hugely pregnant again. I swore I'd never do it before I got pregnant the first time ( I had worked with 2 pregasaurs before there) and I ended up staying until 34 weeks and I was much too large to be there. I'm just not interested in doing it this time. I'm thinking I'll go to 20 weeks and then take it week by week. They don't need me, they're basically doing me a favor by giving me my 2 shifts, but others want them so if I wanted to stop today I easily could. 2 people have asked me if I want to stay home Saturday already. But I enjoy the little bit of extra money. I'm looking for a part time job that is not on my feet that pays enough to make paying for daycare worth it. I don't even know where to start. The last time I looked for work I bought a newspaper. Monster jobs? Craig's List?
>that pays enough to make paying for daycare worth it
That might be hard to find. Can you do something opposite your H's schedule? Or are you crafty and can make your fun money on etsy or something? Maybe work from home part time via HSN or a reputable customer service job?
Hmm. Fun money on Etsy... I'll start thinking about that.
But I do want to get out of the house and have accomplishments besides being a super awesome mom. Ha! Even if I only take home $100 week. I'm truly going to miss my job. I know I'm never going to find one quite like it at a desk, but a couple hundred a month makes me feel like at least I'm contributing, and talking to adults makes me feel like I'm sane. H has a nutty schedule so I'll definitely have to find a daycare options, which I've never looked into before. I'm clueless as to what daycare costs. I'm assuming $150 week but can it be less for part time? I think I'll start looking at Care and see what's going on out there.
I've found my "leads" on linkedin, indeed.com and monster.com ... not that I've had much luck so far, but I'm looking for something kind of specific and I've only been actively looking for about a week and a half.
Sara full time Dc is generally $200+/wk per child. Unless you find a home daycare that has a great deal and second child discount.
HSN you can work from home but might have miserable hours (4-11pm etc.) honestly you might be better off trying to work PT at a daycare as a teachers helper. That would allow A interaction with other children, a discounted rate and income
Working from home or working at a daycare are just too different from what I love about my job. I need to get out and get the kids songs out of my head a few hours a week. My friend found $150 wk on Care.com for 1 kid, so if I could find a $12/hr job for 28 hours a week I would be on cloud 9. Before I started where I work now, 10 years ago, I was making $15/hr telemarketing for consolidating student loans, but that was 40 hours plus mandatory OT. It might be harder to find decent hourly PT. Although I'm kinda surprised, most jobs I'm looking at right now are full time and I thought that was harder to come by with the health care thing. I guess I'm looking at bigger corporations that already provide health insurance.
By the time baby #2 comes we will have a lot extra per month bc our AC will be paid for finally and our house will be refinanced finally, god willing, so we'll be able to afford the extra kid cost if phantom job works out, or we could just pay a babysitter to come over 1 day a week so I can get a break to do stuff.
Starbucks offers health insurance to PT workers. You'd still be bartending... just non-alcoholic drinks.
I don't need health insurance. We're all on H's. But a couple of people I know in different locations are getting their full time hours cut because their employers don't want to/can't afford to offer health insurance. They're not allowed to work more than 28 now. See for me that's ideal. 28 hours, $12 hour. Yes please. I do love me some Starbucks, but I'd just assume stay where I am than get another on my feet service industry job. I'm thinking something on my ass . Telephone, customer service, something along those lines. Just get me out of the house.
I may stay where I am after all, in some other capacity. They're being very supportive. But they also understand that a job sitting during the day will be good for me too. Nights are hard yo.

I know the company that sells Proactiv has work from home CS reps. Would you want to do something like that? Center daycares around here run $1200 a month. I found an in home recently that is $55 a day.

I love Proactiv! Working from home I would still need someone helping me with A though. She is pretty independent but she's full time too. She can tear a house up in a matter of minutes and as soon as I pick up the phone she thinks we're playing.
Hilton reservations is another cs job. If you want to drive a little Suncoast Schools is hiring in the call center and branches (you can use me as reference). GTE financial is hiring

Maybe you could fill the job I'm leaving, lol. It was 30 hours and requires an English or related degree. I'm actually pretty sure they aren't going to fill it here in Tampa but somewhere else in the country instead.
I signed up for this flexjobs thing when I saw a promo or something on GMA one morning. I'm not interested in a job right now, but it looks it might be worth checking out. Oh, and I got my current job by responding to an ad in the newspaper, too. We old.

Your job sounds awesome and I just happen to have 30 hours and an English degree. But that link you sent us even more cool. Thanks! (I'm exclamation point crazy tonight)
