Because of my nature, I automatically jump to the worst possible conclusion, so bear with me
Mona has several lumps all over her body--when we adopted her, the vet said he wouldn't worry about them until they seem to get hard or larger. She has a very prominent one on her side, several on her chest, a couple on her face, and one on her ankle.
I was petting her today, and noticed two very large lumps on her neck, where Dr Google tells me her lymph nodes are. ::cue freak out::
Over the past week or two, she's been annoyingly increasing her whines to go outside to pee. Her poops have never really been solid, and she's been trapping herself in the bathroom (the door swings closed by itself). I don't know how much to attribute to old age (vet's guess is 10-12yo).
Obviously, I'm going to take her to the vet, but give me some advice, experiences, anything.
I know the board is slow on the weekends, so I won't get too upset if there's no activity until Monday

I have to coax her off the couch to eat the past couple of days. I haven't noticed any weight loss. Lumps are on both sides of her neck, and there is swelling on the one side of the groin area :\
We went to the vet..it is lymphoma Our vet gives her maybe 3 months, 6 if we're lucky. She'll be on prednisone until the end.
I am so sorry. We lost a cat to lymphoma last fall. Fwiw, she was on prednisone and some anti-nausea meds (her tumor was surrounding her stomach), and they did seem to help her feel better. It seemed like once we started treatment, she had a fairly good quality of life (all things considered) right up until the night before she passed.
This almost exactly. My cat's tumor was in his chest/lung area, and once on prednisone and a chemotherapeutic drug (I can't remember what it was called, but we were trying to cure him since he was so young), he acted completely fine for a solid 6 months. It was the night before we said goodbye that he actually acted sick again. I really hope it's the same for Mona.
