I might send Zoe (and possibly jack) to an in home day care place near my house part time. I've never done the day care thing, so I am not sure what to ask/look for. Is there anything that you asked or noticed/learned from experience? TIA!!!
I spent a lot of time observing interactions. Watched how she handled arguments among kids, what they were doing, what kind of emergency plan she had. What if one child needed to go to the ER? What would she do? What does she do with them all day? Do they go anywhere? Are you okay with your DD traveling in a car with this person? Does she bring them on walks? How does she control them all? Does anybody else have interaction with the kids (her parents, husband, neighbor)? Where do they nap? Is there enough resting areas for all kids? Is it clean? Does she have pets? If so, do they interact with kids?
I also asked the kids questions. They're honest. And call parents (current & former ones). I called my licensing department & they provided lots of details (way more than I expected them to provide).
In the end, my situation didn't work out & I ended up bringing D to a daycare facility. I liked the idea of many adult eyes, not just one.

If you send me your email, I will send you a doc I just got from an in home provider. It has a lot of details in it, and may give you an idea of questions that you have.
