I was behind Curt Schilling (former Red Sox player) at a stop light. He got out and helped a turtle across the road. I wanted to take a picture of his car because it was covered with a stick person family including enough stick animals to span the width of the rear window of the BMW.
DH was all "that must be his wife's car".
He's seen Patriots players at bars and sometimes goes up to them but never gets pictures.
This thread is reminding me of when I was in Russia, and this young Russian student demanded to know all the celebrities I had met: "Madonna? Britney Spears?" Because, you know, we're all best friends in America.
When I explained to her the distance (and not just geographical) between LA and Wisconsin, she lost all interest in me.
You should have gone with this misconception and see where it would have taken you
Ah! I totally missed your tweet last night. WHY IS THERE NO PICTURE?? eta - I haven't really seen any cool celebrities. My bro hangs out with Jordon sometimes, but we stopped getting pictures years ago when it became more "normal"

Not if I happen to see one when I am out and about, which is rarely. Then again, I usually don't recognize them anyway. I think Joel McHale is the last one I saw a few years ago and since we were going to see him do stand up and he happened to be at our restaurant beforehand it wasn't a surprise. I didn't take any photos, but I did gaze at him a lot.
And SIL and BIL pretty much begged me to get Ditka's autograph at Ditka's steakhouse when he was there one night.
But when I was a paid extra for Major League II, I got a ton of photos. I had no shame at allllll.

No. Not unless we are engaged in a conversation, and I ask. It must suck to go out and know that almost everyone who sees you is going to take a picture or few.
I don't live anywhere near where celebrities would frequent, and I wouldn't recognize a celebrity if they walked up and knocked on my door, so......no.

I actually think it'd be more awkward to have a full conversation and then get a pic.

Don't question me on my logic.
I don't start a conversation just for that purpose, but if a conversation happens naturally, for whatever reason, I might ask about the picture.
In restaurants, at the gym and in my office my rule is NO. I guess living where we do it's kind of a common thing to see celebs so I get giddy but not I-want-a-picture-giddy.
I would but I don't see celebrities ever (I live in Iowa). Although I did see the actor that played Robert in Everybody Loves Raymond in Vegas at the casino. Hoping to see more celebs when I go back in July!
I only really saw celebs when I still lived in LA, and then I was wee. I met a smattering, but it was usually personal encounters versus sightings, so it was too tacky. Danny DeVito and Rhea Pearlman were at my cousin's Bat Mitzvah and I met them, but no pic. I also met the X-Files stars at a homeless shelter. Those stories were scintillating, eh?
Something that has always surprised me (the few times that I saw famous folk) is how much smaller they are in person. The camera does weird things to people.
lol yes. i am tall for a lady and they are always tiny.
one time i saw bob newhart at the airport and i wanted to pick him up and toss him in the air like a small child.
