So, I'm distraught. I just found out our groomer left the daycare/boarding place he'd worked at. I just called to get L and I in for a grooming appt and they're like "Oh, he's is no longer with us." And they won't tell me where he went (which, ok, I kind of get...but still!).

He was the only reason we even used this place. We've been seeing him for over 6 years now. He's an amazing groomer and also just a really good person. He would always stay late for them so they were his last appt because of L 's Addison's and our commute. He never crate-dried them and would let them run around while the other was being groomed. And he knew how to properly groom a PWD. Do you know how hard it is to find someone who knows how to do that?? People SAY they know how but then the dog comes out looking like some bastardized poodle/schnauzer mix or something.

I REALLY don't want to have to go thru the hassle of finding another groomer. And the new groomer at this place won't take late afternoon appts, which makes it next to impossible to get the dogs in.

So, I know his full name and I've found him on FB, but his profile is pretty locked down. However, apparently FB now charges you $1 to send people you're not friends with a message, or you can just send it to their "Other" folder. I have no idea what sending a message to his "Other" folder means - does he get a notification? Or does it languish away for all eternity in some spam filter?

Would it be weird/creepy to send him a friend request? We have no connection other than this. :S

You don't get notification about the Other messages, and I've had some sit in there for months without knowing about them.

I wouldn't think it'd be creepy, especially if you want to know where he is working now to bring him business.
