Anything is ok as long as something is on your feet. I had to send a guy home once because he got to work and THEN realized he didn't have shoes and tried to hide it.
anything goes unless it's a year you anticipate doing lots of deescalation or restraint - then it's still up to the individual, but if your toes get smashed to bad for you.
This sounds like you work in a PRTF, do you?
nope - just good ole public school SPED with children with autism and ED. We don't restrain often, but getting kicked in the shins, having your toes stepped on, and having to get out of the way quickly when the student is triggered are common.
