the only ones that worked were the take-and-toss ones at target. all the other ones are too complicated and the straw malfunctions.
you can't use them if your kid is prone to leaving them laying on their side all over or throwing them violently because it's just a lid that pops on with a hole for a straw (the straw comes with). but otherwise, they rock.
These are the only ones I've found that really don't leak. My daughter leaves them lying on their side all the time, and they're fine. I get them at Toys R Us.

I will shout from the rooftops that I love the lollacup. It has a weighted straw so it's really easy to use. I've bought every straw cup and this is the only one she has been able to use. I think it won on shark tank or something? Anyway, I love it.
I really want one without a freaking valve. But then I guess it would leak.
The take n toss or the regular Tupperware bell tumbler sippy cups are pretty good. But this is also the reason I only let my kids have water (or milk when they are strapped down) in their cups. I don't want to clean up any messes.
Edit: oh and the ones i linked before are pretty darn good too. Especially for a straw cup. Not completely spill proof, but I'll take it.
I love the take and toss kind. My daughter picked up on using a straw very easily. The hardest cup for her to master was a regular cup. I still don't see too many of these (pictured below) around and everytime we are out and about other moms ask me about them so - even though you're not asking about no-spout cups, I'll throw this out there because I recommend it to everyone:
They're made by Sassy and I have only ever found them at Babies R Us. Best thing on the market though. They let my daughter feel like she's drinking from a cup like everyone else, but no spills! It's also good for teaching children the motor skills for drinking from a cup, minus the messes.
