Or something similar?
My doctor suggested that due to the severity of my sulfa allergy, I should wear an alert bracelet. Then I got a coupon for raceID at a local race and it seems like a great idea.
If you do wear one, which one do you have? Pros/cons?
I have the wrist band. It's comfortable. I wear it running and cycling. I also wear it at open water swims or when I go hiking or x-c skiing. Pros...it could save my life. Cons...none.

I wear one on my shoe. Con: if I get hit by a car my shoe may get blown off my foot, or no one may think to check my shoe for my name. Pro: I don't have to worry about forgetting to put it on.
I have the wrist one. I was really good about wearing it when I just got it. Right now, I'm not even sure where it is. I must find it because I want to wear it when I take baby girl out on runs.
I have it but haven't had the chance to wear it yet. I got the wrist one. I put my address on it so the only con is that I'm moving and I either needs to scratch it out or order a new one or hope if I'm lying in the road, someone will call the numbers first.
Yes. I have shoe IDs and a wrist ID; which one I wear depends on the day and where I am. My wrist ID is bright orange, so I bring that when I travel--more visible IMO than the black or blue ones I have on shoes.
I do not. Instead, I filled out the bright yellow ID strip in my jacket and if I'm not running with that, I take my driver's license in my spi belt.
I would get a road ID but I'm cheap and the free version seems to work just as well for me. I have no medical issues that I would want anyone to know about in an emergency.

I have the shoe one. I like knowing my info is on there- I need to be premeditated before procedures so if I am out the docs will still know & they can get ahold of my emergency contacts.

But a license doesn't list any emergency contact names or numbers...so emergency responders find your license and can ID *you*, great, but how do they get word to a friend or family member if you are unable to give them that info?
I've been thinking about getting one of these. Does anybody have a coupon code? What info did you include?
They have suggestions on the website. I chose to put as many numbers as I could fit, after my name/birth year, city of residence, and drug allergy. That left room for DH, my MIL, and my parents' landline since I often run from their house (2 hr away, different area code) when we visit.
I have a slim wrist ID and I take great comfort knowing my emergency information is there. On the last line it says "Finish Strong." My Road ID came in a few days before my half, and those words were very appropriate. Great for safety and inspiration!
I have the slim wrist one, but have had the shoe one before too. I think the shoe one worked better for me bc I couldn't misplace it easily, like I often do with my wrist ID.

There are coupon codes on retailmenot.com
DH's has: DH name / DOB in mm/dd/yy format City State USA (important if we were out of the country IMO) My first name / wife / my cell phone number Asthma / neck injury and year of injury / B Pos Blood Allergies, using abbreviations like PCN for penicillin (Actual wording is NO PCN) / Org Donor

There is nothing on my license other than my name that is worth anyone knowing in an emergency. Heck, it's not even from the jurisdiction where I currently live.
My Road ID has my blood type, penicillin allergy, and husband's contact info. I wear it for solo activities, but I need to wear it for softball, too.

Ordered! I went for the ShoeID and put 3 phone numbers (Husband, Mom, and uncle who is local) and NKA/blood type/ Organ Donor on the last line. Thanks for the kick in the pants!
I forgot my driver's license in my long sleeve running top this week and tossed it in the laundry before I left for work. I went out for drinks with coworkers and had to take my passport, explaining that I didn't have my DL because I took it with me running "so I don't end up a Jane Doe if something happens."

I know in my state you can register an emergency contact with the BMV, so when they run you they'll be able to get contact info for them. That's what I did (especially important for me since my wife isn't legally my wife here), BUT it wouldn't do any good if I was out of state or didn't have my license or whatever, and it doesn't have any other emergency info or backup contacts. I keep thinking I need to get a RoadID but I just haven't gotten around to it yet.
