I do not. Instead, I filled out the bright yellow ID strip in my jacket and if I'm not running with that, I take my driver's license in my spi belt.
I would get a road ID but I'm cheap and the free version seems to work just as well for me. I have no medical issues that I would want anyone to know about in an emergency.
But a license doesn't list any emergency contact names or numbers...so emergency responders find your license and can ID *you*, great, but how do they get word to a friend or family member if you are unable to give them that info?
If I'm running with my spi belt, I'm running with my phone and everything is in there and easy to access -ICE names/numbers, no password etc.
While the road ID looks nice and convenient, it doesn't do anything that my other stuff doesn't do, so it makes no sense to me to spend money on it.
Definately. I have the slim one. It has my name, birthdate, my husband and my moms phone number on it. I don't have any medical issues so don't have anything else really to put on it and on the slim its hard to put anything else. My husband has the standard one which has his blood pressure issues listed. It is worth the $20-30!
Yes - I wear it on my shoe. It is a little bit outdated since I got married, but it still has DH's main contact number on it and that's the most important thing on there.
I have the slim one. I try to remember to wear it when I run/bike/hike. I am getting better about it! It says:
Susie Derkins / DOB YYYY Town, State / 123-456-7890 Calvin 234-567-8901 Parents 345-678-9012 No Med Hx / NKA / O-Pos
ETA: I can absolutely appreciate the simplicity of the shoe ones. I went with wrist because it was the most flexible to use with rotating pairs of running shoes, cycling shoes, and hiking boots (ankle wouldn't work well with those). I even wear it to race now, even though they could ID me by bib #. Way faster to read an emergency contact phone # off my Road ID than have to sift through registration records. If I got hurt I'd want Calvin to get word and get there ASAP.
I started wearing it more consistently when I started keeping it w/ my Garmin and ipod instead of w/ my bracelets/jewelry.
I just ordered mine today. I almost got sideswiped on my run this morning, even wearing my super bright construction safety jacket. Put things into perspective.

I do not have one but I will be getting one soon. While I do run with my phone most of the time it would just be easier to look at someones wrist or shoe and get the emergency contact that way.

Especially if your phone gets separated from your body in a collision, or is smashed beyond use.
I never take mine off (unless I'm dressing up). I really like it since I run on layovers in different states and except for my shorts that are the Texas flag no one would know where I was from.
Mine has my name DOB, blood type, DH's #, mom's #, city, state and the last line is "One bad mother runner"
DH has one for cycling. His sister got it for him. It only has his mommy as his emergency contact. Apparently she doesn't think we'll last that long?
Something like this happened with our friend. His sister bought him a RoadID for Christmas. She added herself, her husband (local, admittedly but why both of them?) and our friend's parents (several states away) as contacts. His gf of 3 years was upset, and his sister was all "well there only space for three contacts so..."
