I now feel like an ass for hosting playgroup at my house yesterday, you know, when Payne was eating and playing totally normally...
Ugh.
Don't best yourself up. I think that can happen to anyone. I know I've taken mine out and the next day they are sick. Infortunetly it's something we can't predict.

They don't get them often, but something is going around right now. I'm waiting for our turn, since my oldest came home from school on Tuesday telling me about all the kids who threw up at school and/or were home sick that day.

I can relate. It seems like Allie gets it once and picks it back up 15 times before its over. She had it 4 times in 5 weeks. Her whole class kept sharing the germs.
The last time she had it, I bleached everything. I called the pedi and asked what I could do. They had me give her yogurt.
It went through our house just once this year and it was basically just 24 hours except for ds. When e gets sick it turns into an asthma flare up. Poor kid. Hope he feels better soon.

I know it goes through my sisters house (who has 3 kids) about 2-3 times a year. Her kids are at different schools though so I have wondered if it has something to do with each of them bringing it home at different times.
We've been really lucky and haven't really had any stomach bugs (KNOCK ON WOOD). The only time my DDs have thrown up is when they have a cold and the mucous drainage goes into their stomachs and they get coughing and throw up. No big gross bugs thank God.
We had it four times this year, which is very odd for us. Normally it is once a year. But we rarely get colds or respiratory stuff. IDK what is going on.
Edit: Thank god Leo has avoided it every time. I am shuddering thinking about when we get to the point of two sick kids.
We've had four rounds here as well. DS will bring it home from school, I'll stay up with him, get it myself. Then DD gets it a few days later, rinse and repeat. At least we got DS to finally puke in a bowl or the toilet instead of simply bending over and puking wherever.
DS has also been on five rounds of antibiotics for strep and DD on three rounds for strep and ear infections. This year of sickness can go to hell. Did I mention we switched to high deductible insurance since my kids had never been sick before this?
I did a bit of research on the stomach bug and they say a glass of grape juice a day helps prevent it. DS won't touch the stuff, but I was drinking it for a while and it spared me the last two rounds. Maybe wine counts :-)
I'm glad to see this year has been bad for many people. They just keep going from barfing to an ear infection and back again. I was beginning to think my house is mysteriously disgusting on some way or my kids are defective or something.
At work, you can count on each child getting it twice. They say once is the norovirius, and once is rotavirius. This winter has been super sucky for stomach virius'. There is a 24 hour type stomach bug going around now, which they are saying is rotavirius (many of our children have ended up in emerg and were tested and came back positive for it). Hopefully you and your family will recover quickly. PS: BLEACH everything, it is the only thing that will kill it, not lysol, not hand sanitizer, etc.
Trying not to jinx myself here, but my 3.5 y.o. has never had a tummy bug. The toddler had one as a baby, I think. He was still in the spit-up phase, but it was like projectile-across-the-room vomit.
That said, they've never been to daycare, so that helps. We are not germophobes by any means, but they've managed to avoid the bad ones. And now that I've typed that, they'll both start puking.
I think one thing to remember is that you can be shedding up to 10 days post being sick and that is usually how it is spreading. People think they are better and forget to keep being really diligent on washing hands, bathroom, doorknobs, etc.
Oh and you can give him culterelle to help speed up the healing process. I would avoid yogurt and just give him the better concentration of probiotics.
