So, the cat attacked my last night, while I was walking up the steps. To get him off me, I kicked my leg . . . and slammed my foot into the wall HARD. My PCP is out of town for 10 days. Do I call a podiatrist or orthopedist? I've been taking Ibuprofen and RICEing as best as I can while taking care of my almost 5 month old (DH is at work and will be til later this evening.) FWIW, it feels fine when I walk, but hurts when I'm not walking. There's pain in my lower three toes, the top of my foot, and from the ball of my foot forward. I don't think anything's broken. If there's a sprain or fracture, is there anything anyone can even do for me? I'm pissed because I have to start training for a 15k and this is putting a real damper on that.
If it's broken and depending on where, a shoe may be necessary. When I broke mine, it didn't really hurt. It just ached but it was definitely broken. A podiatrist would be the best option.
