Met with the color consultant today. Holy crap, I picked a lot of colors in an hour, and I am a little iffy on some (dining room in particular). And oh yeah, H ran his first marathon on Sunday! I'm proud and relieved, and he is already planning his second. So haven't been around much lately, but maybe when things settle down after the move I can come back to the time suck I love so dearly.

Elizabeth's room:
Guest room is similar to Elizabeth's room, but you can't really see a difference on the computer screen. looks different in person though with the bedding.
Any input is welcome before the painter orders an ass load of paint tonight!
so the dining room isn't too "harvest gold?" that's my concern as it connects to the foyer. It is a little risky, but I didn't want a burgundy dining room like errrybody else, even though that is kind of the color I was thinking of. the color lady suggested gold since we're thinking of leaning towards a sort of art deco meets arts and crafts vibe and are kind of loving tiffany glass light fixtures.
It was really effing hard to find a gold that works with that dark brown, the hallway, and the living room (which we aren't painting).
KA: HA!! Orange Cat was my palette inspiration. ok not really, but now i can claim that she was. H will love that, as he is not so fond of the cats. *snort*
the dining room ceiling has a white medallion in the center from which a chandelier hangs (yes, another effing fugtastic chandelier). So that will eventually go, but I wanted to highlight the medallion, so picked something that would be light (is actually darker in person), but still let that pop.
fivechickens - the kitchen is benjamin moore spring meadow.
angelaa73 - I'm pretty sure our contractor would kill me if I told him I wanted to put up wall paper. Don't worry though, the entire basement is still a lovely grass textured wall paper. Including the ceiling of the stairs down to the basement. The wall paper will live on for a while longer until we stop hemorrhaging cash and our bank stops laughing at us.
