In the last week I've received 3 graduation invitations from my former students. I taught them in 1st and 2nd grade, and I quickly bonded with the children and their families. I left their school after second grade to find a job closer to my new home when I got married. I went to visit them every year until 5th grade. When they went to middle school I had no connections to be able to show up and visit as I pleased. So here I am 10 years later opening invitations with pictures of men and women where those sweet children's faces used to be. It has literally brought me to tears with pride. The two that I opened yesterday made me a blubbering mess. Needless to say, it makes me realize how much time has passed, and it is mind blowing. This will be the first group of my students to graduate high school!
I'm going to every single one of them, and I can't wait to cheer for my babies! One of the boys has moved to south GA, and we are making a road trip just for him! I can't wait!

So cool! I would probably be in tears! I haven't taught long enough to have any of my students graduate yet. I'm looking forward to that!
That is awesome. One of my former students graduated college last week. I wish I could have been there for her. I was so unbelievably proud. (I teach high school so mine grow up a lot more quickly.)
