I got a WalMart gift card as a shower gift and used it to pick up a tub. It's one of those Summer brand ones with the mesh sling that she still uses but soon she won't need. When she had sponge baths early on I used the mesh insert alone on the kitchen counter, now I use it in the plastic tub, and soon she will sit well enough that I'll take it out and she'll use just the plastic tub until she's too big for that which unfortunately won't be much longer. You don't need anything fancy. I think mine was around $15 and has been perfect. It's the Summer Cradling Comfort infant tub. ETA I was given this one second hand but never used it www.amazon.com/European-Upright-Baby-Bath-Color/dp/B001AJ69CS/ref=sr_1_66?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1339379103&sr=1-66
It has the new born sling for sponge baths (which we didn't have to do, since when we brought them home, the stump had fallen off already. The little cup which we still use even though the girls have outgrown this tub (you don't want a second hand tub, do you? Because I'd love to get most every baby related thing in this house OUT!)
The wash cloth, and the froggy mat - this was good for when babies were old enough to sit in the tub, but the tub has a uneven level to prevent leaking, so it padded their butts(ses).
Also, I doubt it was $41. My sister is pretty cheap, so I would surprised if she spent that much.

Definitely one with the mesh insert but other than that, you don't need anything fancy. The ones with the "spa" accessories are such a waste IMO. And the inflatable duck ones are good for travel but that's it.

I used the pink one with the mesh insert. The Euro tub is the highest rated on the market. I registered mostly at Target, or I would have registered for it.
The Euro tub is very large, which is nice when they start to grow bigger and are not quite ready to sit up in the bathtub. Its supposedly super "safe" with the way that it is designed to curve infants.
