DS is having tear duct surgery tomorrow morning. He has a clog which has caused frequent eye infections. I am glad they're doing the surgery now at 5 months, poor guy has been on 4 different eye drops in the last month. (typically they like to wait until at least 9 months to operate)
We can't feed him after midnight, I have a feeling it will be a very rough night, he normally nurses at 1, 4 & 7am. We plan to wake him at 11:45 for one last feeding. We have to check in at 6 am.
I know this is a very routine surgery but I'm still nervous.
Chessie- it's hereditary apparently. I had the surgery & so did my mom.
I have heard the same as well. Funny, my doctor thought I needed to get another surgery to clear out my ducts soon since it was causing issues again. Its much different as an adult though apparently, more down time.
