This is way in advance, but I love looking at restaurant menus
Our anniversary is in July and I'm looking for suggestions in Boston/Cambridge area. Since the kids we don't go out very much so I'm not in on the restaurant buzz. We're not adverse to repeating but interested in new for sure. Here's some of the ones we've been to:
L'espalier No 9 Mooo Petit Robert Aquataine Lala Rokh Mare Masa Mistral Oleana Radius Sel de la Terre Wine Celler
Many of these we haven't been to in years, so if you think it's worth a repeat feel free to suggest it. We don't need fancy but we want somewhere we couldn't take kids, for a change, since most of our eating out revolves around kid friendly.
I totally agree with Rock. We've been to Craigie on Main a few times and it is fine, but I've never been overly impressed. We went to Menton for our anniversary last year. It was good, but not great. I think No 9 Park is much better, too.
I recently went to Sam's at Louis on the waterfront and the food was amazing! As were their mixed cocktails. It's def on the pricey side but I'd totally go again. I also loved the ambiance with the floor to ceiling windows on 3 sides of the restuarant so you could get a view of the water.
One place that's not on your list is Salts in Cambridge. Do you both like duck? Their honey lavender whole-roasted duck for two is amazing. You need to call and reserve it in advance. We've done a tasting menu there as well but I like the duck better.
There's also Craigie on Main. I haven't been to the restaurant since it moved to Main St. and I'll say that I personally didn't love it the one time we went but most people rave about it.
Went to Menton recently...it was OK but I liked No. 9 better (same chef).
Hmm. Haven't been to Craigie on Main yet. Forgot to mention it but we have been to Salt and got the duck, of course
No 9 Park seems to be the #1 suggestion. We went over 3 years ago so probably worth a return trip.
Aww yay! Ours is in July too so I'm interested in these suggestions...hehe. My birthday is next week so we're trying Wicked Wine Bar if we can get a babysitter...IDK if there is one near Cambridge but we're going to the one at Legacy Place in Dedham. I'll let you know if it's worth trying
Mistral is my favorite on your list (that I've been to and I'd go back there in a second! But a new one that is really good is Rendezvous in Cambridge. it is a neat space (used to a Burger King in Central Sq) and the dish I had there was *amazing*. It was a skate fish in some kind of broth, mmmm.....!
But I'm sure anywhere you go will be amazing! Happy Anniversary!
