Period after miscarriage

I'm just started my first period after a miscarriage.  I had a d&e about 4 weeks ago. My period started yesterday, but its not like a typical period. I know that it's not unusual for the first to different, but this is more like what I had during my miscarriage. Dark, dark brown and mucus/tissue coming out, but no red blood. 

I can't call and ask the doctor until tomorrow, so of course I'm thinking about all the ways this could be bad. Anybody have any experience with this?

My first period post miscarriage was not at all like a normal period in length, heaviness or consistency. What you are experiencing is likely very normal but call the doctor tomorrow anyway. I don't think anything needs immediate attention if that's what you are concerned about.

My first was a bit delayed and different.  After that, though, it was normal again.  It can, and often does, take time.  If you're particularly concerned, talk to your OB.

My first period post m/c was pretty normal. It was delayed a bit, I think it was exactly 5 weeks past D&C, but otherwise it was normal flow, color, etc.
