I hope everyone had a nice weekend. My weekend was good.
Saturday I took Jelly Bean to a birthday party for one of her classmates. She had a good time and sang "Happy Birthday" the entire ride home. Then her babysitter came over and K and I went out for date night which was dinner and a club.
Sunday we all went out breakfast and then watched the Pride Parade. After the parade we strolled around the pride festival for a few hours before heading out to run errands.
Overall it was a really nice weekend of spending time with my two favorite ladies.
Fri: Movie with the kids before taking A to her Dad's for the weekend. I put the kids to bed when we got home and parked myself on the couch with a tension headache until I could make it to bed.
Sat: We walked the Venice Beach boardwalk, then stopped in Hollywood to get cream puffs next to Mann's Chinese Theater. We stopped by the IL's on the way home and then home to bed.
Sun: I worked out and cleaned all day. J invited her family over for dinner and we grilled. After I got all the kids to bed I did the dishes and cleaned up as much as possible.
Friday was Sprout's school's end of the year family picnic. We had on and off showers so they moved it inside which was way too hot, crowded and chaotic. Andrea was volunteering so I was on my own with the kids and it was kind of crazy. They ended up having a good time, but OMG, it could have been planned so much better.
Saturday morning Sprout had a tball game (the girls were supposed to have dance but the teacher never showed - wierd). He did well but wrangling 2 toddlers who just want to run to their mama on the field while trying to watch the game isnt easy. Home for lunch/rest/party prep. The afternoon was Sprout's family birthday party at a bowling ally. We had the place to ourselves and the bowling was a bit hit with the fam. We ended up staying much longer than I anticipated, but that just means people were having a good time Got the kids home late and put them to bed.
Sunday morning we slept in. Since I didnt have time or energy to make a second cake after the bowling party, we all went out in search of cupcakes for party #2. That turned into a bit of an adventure when Andrea lost the reciept at Sams club (which is a cardinal sin b/c you have to show your reciept at the exit). The kids and I grabbed some pretzels and hot dogs while she sorted that all out. Daisy fell asleep in the car so we went home and put the girls to nap. Andrea took Sprout to a classmate's karate party. It was overstimulating for Sprout (any kind of violence/fighting is a trigger for him) but he was mature enough to recognize it and ask to leave early on his own (!!!!). Then it was time to head to the bounce house for Sprout's kid party. We all had a great time and it went way too quick. We visited the horses and had a short swim and leftover pizza at my parents' house before heading home for bed.
Nothing too exciting. I bought a swing and it's helping with the whack-a-mole nature of caring for 5-week-old twins. Our washing machine is broken so we spent Sunday at my parents' house doing laundry. My parents fed us breakfast and lunch and held the babies the entire time, except when they were nursing. Thank god for these people. They are saving my sanity.

Pretty nice. My Gram's memorial was this weekend, but I found it to be a really happy/positive time, just remembering her and how awesome she was. It was hard for me when Gwen asked me where Gram was, but I was satisfied with my answer to her, and she seemed satisfied with it too.
Yesterday was lazy. We went out to breakfast at the Pop Shop (fun throwback kind of place in NJ with great food), and dropped my brother off to catch his bus back to DC. We hibernated for much of the rest of the day since it was HOT.
It was overstimulating for Sprout (any kind of violence/fighting is a trigger for him) but he was mature enough to recognize it and ask to leave early on his own (!!!!).
Sweet Lord, I wish my kids were self aware enough to do things like this. I find this utterly amazing.

We did too! I was shocked. That's years of good therapy right there
Epic renovation weekend. Amazing friends who are our second family drove 6 hours from MN, took out a cabinet, drywalled, decided to "just build a closet", installed a door--making a living room into a bedroom, and several other amazing projects.
We've got a lot of work to do this week to prepare to paint on Sat, but the feeling of community was overwhelming. I can't thank these people enough.
Another friend's boss gave us her kids old playset. I need to seal it, and install a swing on it (I think that will be way better than a rope ladder), but WOW!
