Well, that will teach me to look up prices online before going anywhere for the first time.
We went to the zoo today and it was $28 (that's expensive for our COL, especially compared to our old city's zoo). There were no admissions prices listed at the cashier, just membership fees and it was so busy we didn't question it since we'd never been there before.
I got home and looked it up online - Kids 2 and under are free. We were charged $6 for our 2 year old.
It hurts to know that, but again, my fault for not asking the cashier about the rates, even though they usually ask how old DS is.
So, would you write a nice email about no signage, getting over charged $6 your first time as a guest to the zoo or let it slide and consider it a lesson learned? Zoos are generally non profit so this definitely hurts less than paying an extra $6 at a store or something.
Considering that our zoo is $18 for "adults"11+ and $15 for a 2 year old (and $13 to park), I'd just suck up the $6 and look into a membership.
Must be the same zoo we go to, the membership is well worth the cost. I'd never go paying "out of pocket." On the other hand, I do think I'd send an email to at least tell them that you were frustrated at the lack of signage and the fact that you were overcharged.
