So I made the cornstarch recipe (cornstarch and water) and it isnt that great. It is okay and my husband will still be surprised and pleased for .fathers Day, but it is pretty bad.
Any other recipes for edible paint? Or can I use the paint in the store that says "non toxic" ?

Basically I held DS up and dipped his feet in the paint and then walked him over paper. I think dipped his hand and pressed it against the paper (and immediatelly wiped it off). So, he didn't really have a chance to put anything in his mouth.
I would think the non-toxic stuff is fine. I would imagine finger paints are made knowing that kids might ingest some.

Great idea! Stealing! She can have the hands and feet to be cuter and then I will let her play with the finger paint outside and it will look bad, but who cares?

We just played with the not so great stuff I made. She wasnt that into. She didnt eat it. She was more into the newspaper underneath. It was fun for me.

Just wanted to add that if you are doing hand/foot prints I found that ink worked better for me than paint. It was less "gloopy" and was easier to get it done quickly. Just my .02.
When I was little my daycare let us fingerpaint with vanilla pudding colored with food coloring. We ate a lot of it! I haven't tried anything with DS yet though.

Next time! Maybe I will suggest it for my Moms group. We are meeting outside sometimes now
