On Saturday I got up butt-early (4:30ish) to go to my Team in Training group training. I didn't feel like running, so I just hung out while everyone else ran, lol. Then we stopped by My Fit Foods because they were having an anniversary sale and got some food for the day. Spent the rest of the day hanging out on the couch, slept for 3 hours in the afternoon and then was falling asleep on the couch at 9PM. I was extremely tired, apparently. I'm guessing this is because I ran out of thyroid meds on Wednesday and wasn't able to pick up my refill until yesterday due to miscommunication between the pharmacy and my dr's office.
Yesterday we volunteered at 2 church services, cleaned house, did grocery shopping, and hung out. I also gave a friend a massage in the evening.
I'm still feeling the effects of 5 days without meds, so I'm kind of tired. Going to the doctor for a general check up and thyroid bloodwork this afternoon.
Holy smokes! Sorry you had to go without thyroid meds for so long! That stinks!
I've noticed a few of you BOTB people are working out a lot. Just out of curiosity, have you always been a runner? If not, what inspired to start? I'm trying to persuade myself to work out more, but I've had a hard time sticking with anything. I'll be dedicated to working out for a month or so, and then I stop doing it regularly.
Also, that's great that you volunteered for churches!
Holy smokes! Sorry you had to go without thyroid meds for so long! That stinks! It totally stinks. I really should've made CVS give me some hold-over pills on Friday when I went in, but I was dumb and thought it'd be OK.

No, I started running about 2.5 years ago. DH and I really needed to lose weight, and running was the easiest work out to get started with. We joined Team in Training (a fundraising/endurance athletics training branch of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society) in January of 2010 and have been training for half marathons pretty regularly since then. It really helps me to know that I'm not just doing this for myself, and to have other people around to motivate and encourage me (and vice versa!)
Also, that's great that you volunteered for churches! Yeah, we volunteer on the "Welcome Team" at our church on 2nd & 4th Sundays, 9:30 and 12:30 services. We basically stand at the doors to the auditorium and say "good morning" and hand people programs.

Gnome, running for a cause is a great idea! That sounds like the kind of thing I need to stay motivated. 2 1/2 years is a something to be super proud of!
