iPhone users

So, I shattered my phone this morning. I'm really on a roll with dropping things. Awesome.

I'm not up for "upgrade" until November 2012. What a freaking crock of shit.
So now, they get me for an extra $250 or some shisty things like that.

What are my options? Is there a work around here? Can I buy a phone off ebay and put my sim in it?

Do I suck it up and pay the $350 ($250 plus $99 phone replacement)?

And yes, I'll get a case. I had one, but I take it off to listen to pandora in my car. the cord won't fit when the case is on, and well, i got lazy and decided its easier not to put it on. Expensive mistake.

Check the prices at an cell phone repair shop. My BIL buys parts from newegg.com and repairs iStuff all the time. He's fixed my old iPod Touch more than once. If he can do it, they should be able to do it at some of those places - I think there is a kiosk at Wiregrass where they repair cellphones.

There's a store on Dale Mabry that fixes phones. It's a drive for you but not too far down from Whole Foods and very close to me (hint hint). I think they charge $100 for iPhone screens. If your interested I'll dig up the card.

I have my old droid. I'll wipe it and you can try that until you are due for the upgrade if you want...

It's actually the back of the phone, not the screen. So the phone can be used, it just puts lots of glass shards in my hand. lol

And I should look into getting it fixed first and then when I'm up for upgrade, get the new iphone4s.

I know my FIL just shattered his iPhone screen and he had it fixed at a repair shop. I am pretty sure he paid $50, but it was done in Orlando.

Good news... looks like I can take it in to Apple and for $29, they will replace the glass. I have an apt at the genius bar today at 6. Fingers crossed.

You can purchase the back for your phone on Amazon for like $15. There are tutorials on pinterest and Youtube on how to fix it yourself
