Do you ever read a status or comment and just laugh and laugh to yourself?
A woman posted on someone else's status about how she just "expected" another position. And she kept using "expected" instead of accepted. I really just want to comment with "you were accepted" and ask if this higher position relies on spelling at all.
Just little things, like the girl who kept posting "I still have another 19 lbs to loose!" and kept using "loose" instead of "lose".
Or those who say "I weighted in on the scale". The word is weighed, you weighed in on the scale. (Right? RIGHT? So many people use "weighted" that sometimes I have to pause and wonder if this is acceptable anywhere.)
I have NEVER seen anyone use the word weighted, spelled like that. So I believe you are correct in thinking the only acceptable way to spell weighed is W-E-I-G-H-E-D.
I will admit that lose and loose sometimes get me confused, but only for a second, then I remember which one is correct.
Getting mixed up with expected and accepted is just fucking stupid. lol
ETA: I am generally a really good speller, like my co-workers come to me with spelling conundrums, but I can never spell whether. I almost always forget the first 'h' or spell it weather, which I know is incorrect.
I know with cell phones being used for facebook, auto correct does play a part. But when you write the same mistake for a few days, I feel it is the person making the mistake.
Your and you're drive me nuts. So does accept and except.
I know we are ALL guilty of these, I'm no angel by any means but if you're talking about your new promotion and accepting it; I'd take pains to get the word right.

My fitness pal is a cesspool of "weighted". You either weighed or waited, but you did not weighted.

I actually keep a "friend" around just for this purpose. I literally have no idea how anyone does business with her, her grammar is beyond atrocious. But I get a good laugh.
A friend on my FB put this "Your looking at an educated woman." She wrote this the day before her graduation and got tons of likes.
Seriously, that statement bothered me.
Ugh. That just makes me cringe. I know I'm not a grammar/spelling expert, but I don't see how people make it through life not knowing the difference between your/you're, too/to, etc. How do they get jobs??
Accept/except is a pretty big pet peeve of mine.
When to use "a" vs "an" is another one of those things that just bug me. It's like, CAN'T YOU HEAR THE DIFFERENCE? I have someone on my FB who regularly misuses all of them and it drives me batty.

My cousin and his wife misspell a word in every single one of their updates, which are multiple times a day. At this point I'm thinking they're extremely clever and trying to trick everyone into thinking they can't write. It's better than the alternative.
