Before J.J. Abrams' Star Trek movie came out a few years ago, where you a Star Trek fan?
My husband is a big Star Trek fan - he even programmed his own Star Trek video game (very simple..but still!) as a kid. He got me to watch a few of the old movies before we saw the new one a few years ago, and I didn't love them. About a year ago he finally talked me into watching Next Generation with him on Netflix and I got totally hooked. I was kind of sad when we finished the series.
So are you a trekkie? (trekker? lol) This brought to you by me freely choosing to sit here and (re)watch Star Trek: First Contact on SyFy channel. lol

Oh my yes, I've been a fan since I saw the reruns of the original series as a kid. I still remember making my parents get the Wheaties box with the ad for TNG on it, and anxiously counting down the days until TNG started.
DS9 wasn't my favorite, really, but I did like it. I'm planning to rewatch it this summer as an adult.

Same story with my sister. Her BF is obsessed with every incarnation of Star Trek and she now loves TNG. DH does too so they have long conversations about it.
Big time nerdorama here. I have watched every episode from beginning to end. I am a whore for Voyager, man I loved that series. We also own all the TNG movies ever made. Please don't disown me ML.
I love TNG and Voyager...an ex bf introduced me to the shows in college and I've been hooked since. I loved JJ Abrams reboot and am looking forward to seeing the new movie.
I didn't. We just watched BG on Netflix (which is pretty much the only 'tv' we watch). Was it good? We liked Battlestar, although I found the ending really cheesy and trite.

Yes, unfortunately they cancelled it, because that's what TV stations do to everything thought-provoking and awesome. But they did end it in a satisfying way, and even managed to tie in what they would have done had they not gotten cancelled with an ending fast-forward montage.
Okay, cool. Netflix has one season, and I didn't want to start it if they didn't have the whole thing, which happens sometimes. I want to watch Firefly, too, which I hear is the same type of thing - cancelled too soon, but super good.
I watched the episode where Picard gets taken by the Borg. It was good! DH is too embarrassed to show me any more, apparently he doesn't think they hold up well.

LOL yeah, it is definitely dated. I kind of blocked it after awhile I guess. Then again, my husband feels no shame about it.
