I would have washed it but my co-workers would have too. So I would have been surprised if my co-workers hadn't washed it. Not irritated, though. I would have expected my dh to have rinsed it out himself.
"Why would you ruin perfectly good peanuts by adding candy corn? That's like saying hey, I have these awesome nachos, guess I better add some dryer lint." - Nonny
I'm just picturing this dish sitting there for three days unwashed, on a counter. Out there. That's disgusting. I'd have washed it. Especially if I'd eaten some of it. If I'd eaten the last of it I would for sure have washed it .
I don't know. Dh should have washed it over lunch today, because his training was over and he was back to work today. But YECH. three days.
This is what I'm picturing, too. I would have been annoyed as fuck, but I would have put it in the sink to soak. I might not have put it in the dishwasher, though. Sometimes things soak in my own sink for three days.
Well. I've always worked places with cleaning people and dishwashers. So if a dish were left out, it would end up cleaned by a cleaning person or someone would stick it in the dishwasher.
If, however, I worked somewhere small enough that there wasn't a nightly cleaning service, then yes, I would expect someone to clean out the damn dish. It was sitting out for 3 days. That's just foul. And nasty. I can't even imagine how dirty that kitchen must be. *shudders*
I have only worked at big firms, so there has never been an expectation that I clean up after myself. There is an entire catering department that picks up our plates, washes everything, etc. We don't do potlucks, but if someone brought a cake for a party or something, I am not sure. I guess I would just assume they would use something disposable? I would definitely not even recognize the container to wash it if I'd just eaten some of it. If I had eaten the last bite maybe I would have put it on to soak, but I am honestly not sure I would have. I don't know. I am really having a hard time picturing someone bringing food into the office in a container that needs to go home, so I really don't know how I would act.
This was your husbands fault. He knew he was going to be away, he should take responsibility. I would never ever expect my coworkers to clean my dishes even if I brought it for them to eat.
Annoyance justified, yes; but more importantly, what is the recipe?
OMG. It is awesome.
two cans cream of chicken soup, fat free one can of chicken broth, fat free half cup of half and half one half cup of diced onions, sautéed in butter three chicken breasts, cooked and cubed OR one whole rotisserie chicken, boned and cubed three cups cooked white rice three cups cooked wild rice
Mix all this together. Pour it in a buttered 13 by 9 glass pan.
Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese over the top. Cover with foil; bake at 350 for forty five minutes.
Remove foil. sprinkle slivered almonds on the top. Bake uncovered another 15 minutes.
IT IS SO GOOD. I love this with a bit of diced celery and carrots in the mix, but dh doesn't like the celery. My friend puts pimentos on the top for color, but I'd rather die .
This recipe sounds amazing; I think I'm going to try it and include some broccoli florets instead of carrots/celery.

This is very similar to my mom's recipe, but she adds a package of Lipton onion soup mix to it. Yummy.
I would definitely be annoyed, but I'd be annoyed at my h, not his coworkers.
This exactly. Especially if he works with a bunch of men, none of them were going to wash it, lol. He could have soaked it at work today, and brought it home clean tonight. I am sure this happens when anyone brings anything in to eat, it just happens to be that your husband was out for a few days in a row and didn't bring it home before he left. No biggie in my books. But HE would have been cleaning it when he got home, that's for damn sure.
