I've had a really bad day and just woke up from a nap. One of our foster kittens was unresponsive this morning. He was barely alive, and DH and I rushed him to the vet. I did CPR on him the entire way and there for a minute I thought he might make it. Unfortunately, he didn't They did a snap test on him and found that he was positive for panleukopenia. They recommended we have his brother put down as well. Two 5 week old kittens, both euthanized. I'm heartbroken. The one was fine and then 4 hours later, he was dying. His brother seemed healthy, but they think they had it at birth.
We've had to do a deep clean on the house and throw away all their bedding, dishes, etc. I feel emotionally drained. It hurt so bad to have to put the other seemingly healthy one down. The first one was a gorgeous, sweet seal point...we thought he'd have no trouble finding a home.
Then to top it off, I have a sore throat and we leave Tuesday morning for Hawaii
awww @otterama I am really really sorry.Hugs. You are a good foster momma. Get some rest. Hawaii will be kick ass.
Thanks. The foster coordinator gave me a huge hug and told me I did exactly right. I just can't get the day out of my head. I keep thinking about breathing for the kitten, feeling his whole body puff up with breathe, him trying to breathe, and then he'd start giving up again. I know panleukopenia is a death sentence, but I keep thinking about how maybe if I had checked on him sooner or something We just had no warning whatsoever. My dog thought of them as her babies, and she keeps following me around the house whining. I wish I could make her understand.

H is gone, too. We were supposed to go to a fundraiser dinner tonight but Bonnie has been sick so I didn't want to go. I didn't want the ticket money to be wasted, though, so he went with some friends. The girls are all finally in bed, and I'm eating carrots while watching 27 Dresses.

I love that movie! How's Bonnie feeling?
She's doing better. She has been able to keep everything down for the last 8 hours, so I gave her some milk and she went to bed. Hopefully we're in the clear!

Otterama, I'm so sorry.
I'm at my BF's, but his roommate was gone in rehab (for heroin) for six weeks and just came back today. They've been friends since first grade, and I know BF has been sick over it. I went up to bed early so they could hang out for a while together. I'm just happy Roommate is home.
My DH is working too. I should be cleaning the house because my inlaws are coming tomorrow and I have a shitton of stuff to do tomorrow... but I just don't have the energy to do any of it. Ice cream sounds good.

How long have you been with BF?
It will be 2 years in October. We are thinking about moving in together next summer.

Im here. I've had a really long night. We're getting serious with Sofia's sleep issues, so it took a long ass time to get her to bed. I seriously hope Theo is a good sleeper.
Plus, I feel like shit because I ate so much junk today, but it was SO GOOD. Tomorrow I will do better. Lol.
All my hospital visitors left at 9:30. It made me sad having to say goodbye to the kids. I hate watching them leave. I want to snuggle and love them.
I'm trying to go to sleep. But am having too much pelvic pain. I'm hoping the pain is a uti cause I'll be spending a lot of time crying if thisxiscnormal pain. I wish my room mates were younger. They are older, and recovering from joint surgeries. I'm soooo bored and in make me want to cry pain
I just got back from the worst wedding of all time. I'm still in awe, and I want to type out all the things, but I can't.
IT WAS BAD, Y'ALL.
You don't get to just drop this here and say you don't wanna tell us. YOU MUST!
1. The minister forgot to tell everyone to sit so people stood for the first ten minutes of the ceremony.
2. All the bridesmaids were in different shades of purple, while the groomsmen's tuxes had bright caution greenish/yellow vests and ties. It was hard to look at.
3. People were drinking their booze during the ceremony, phones going off, etc. (rude!!) and it was in a metal pavilion where the roof loudly vibrated during the ceremony.
4. A train passed by.
5. They didn't have a plan for anyone to serve food, so me and a couple of H's aunts and cousins dished out the food. Same case for champagne for the toast, and cutting the cake. Wtf, how do you not have a plan for this shit?
6. The couple wouldn't give the mc a schedule, so he didn't know when to call events (first dance, etc.) so people were asking the bride what she would like to do at what time and SHE WOULD NOT ANSWER.
7. I had to run to get a bottle of Perrier-Jouret for their toast because they wanted something nicer than Moët. They SPIT IT OUT. WHY WOULD YOU HAVE ME DRIVE TEN MILES TO GET A SPECIFIC CHAMPAGNE IF YOU DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IF YOU LIKE IT.
8. They had guests eat while they were taking pictures, so when they arrived into the reception everyone had to wait and watch them eat before any music was played. It was awkward.
9. The bride invited 400 people, but didn't keep an RSVP list. She didn't know how many we're coming, so when we came to help set up, we had to set everything for about 300. About 120-140 showed up, and it looked bare because the room was obviously set for a larger crowd. Their guests all sat on one side of the room, so it was weirdly imbalanced.
The bride and groom just wouldn't commit to anything, didn't have any idea of what they wanted, but would bite your head off if you were helping and it wasn't what they had in mind. TELL PEOPLE WHAT YOU HAD IN MIND.
Also, outdoor wedding outside of Houston in the evening = 90 degrees, everyone sweating, and a thousand mosquitoes and other bugs.
