We did Ferber at 6 months and my son did pretty well with it. He was STTN within a few days and going down for naps pretty easily.
Recently he has become a nightmare to put down for naps or for bed. On top of that, about half of the time he is getting up in the middle of the night and the only way to soothe him is to get up and nurse him. We have tried Ferber but it's not working this time... he will literally scream for hours until I give up and get him.

Our DS went through this right around 9/10 months. We figured it to being a bit of separation anxiety at night. He would wake up screaming and wouldn't go back to sleep. I couldn't do Ferber, I tried, but the CIO just isn't for us. What worked for us was to just be in the room with him let him see us, pat his bum to calm him and then let him fall back asleep. It sucked to have to sit in there with him until he fell back asleep, but it worked for us. It took about 2 weeks and then he was sleeping through the night again.
Thanks for the responses. H is not crawling or attempting to crawl right now. He has been teething though, so that may be it. I guess we're just in for a few rough weeks.
