Meh, 15 weeks is kind of arbitrary, right? I suck at training plans. Don't listen to me.
In all seriousness though, it probably depends on what your base is right now. I bet yours is pretty big. There is a difference between working up from 20mpw with long runs of 6 miles than working from a base of 35mpw with long runs of 12 miles, kwim? You need to think about where you are at relative to what the plan is asking of you during each of those 15 weeks.

My plan starts this week for my full in the beginning of Oct. I thought the same thing, holy crap ready? But then I remembered that I wrote it out with some easy weeks and some repeats so I didn't beat myself up over needing to whiff some runs in there or risk burnout.
So all that babble aside... A run is still a run, right?
I've never trained for more than 12 weeks, and even that seems long.
I think I'm going to use Pfitz 12/55 for my Fall marathon. I usually do the 18 week plans, but after NYCM was cancelled this past year, and my 18w plan turned into a 22w plan, I'm all about shorter.
I like Shelby's idea of just starting after the holiday weekend.

The two other people I actually *know* who are crazy enough to run marathons like you taratru tell me they train for 12 weeks. Plus, it's not like you're starting from scratch.
I would do something this week, just not a 10 mile run.
ETA: Careful, you might yourself unknowingly on RATT.

What's this? This would be fantastic...totally take the pressure off when I go to AP grading for 9 freaking days in two weeks...
