UPDATE: Thank you all for listening to me. I just received word from my dr's office that the test was negative. Just waiting to hear back if I need to follow up sooner than the annual visit I have scheduled for next week.
So my period should’ve been here 5/16, but it didn’t come (& it still isn’t here). I waited until 5/17 to test as I considered that “officially late”. I said in a previous post that I didn’t have a good feeling about this cycle, so I was surprised when I tested that afternoon and had a BFP.
I told my husband about it (he nearly made a wrong turn when I told him, he was that surprised & happy), he asked if I called my doctor. I hadn’t, because I’m superstitious & I wanted to wait until 5/22 to call “just to be sure – that should be plenty of time to be late, and I want to take another test before I call.”
I don’t know why, but I decided to take a test yesterday morning; it was a BFN. I ran to the nearest CVS on my lunch & bought a pack of tests of a different brand; I took one of those tests on my late afternoon break & again, negative. I did some googling & it seemed like when this happened to other women, they were advised to call their doctors so I called mine. She had me come in for a quantitative HCG blood draw last night. Before I headed to her office, (you probably guessed this) I took my last test & guess what, it was negative. Again.
All of these tests were digital tests.
I feel crampy, sometimes it feels like a pulling sensation. My period still hasn't come. I don’t know what’s going on but I do know I’m done POAS for now. I guess I’ll just wait for my dr to call with the results.
My guess is a chemical pregnancy, and you just haven't started bleeding yet. I think there are a few others around here that have had similar experiences lately.
I'm so sorry I hope you get answers soon. Waiting in limbo definitely sucks.
I kind of thought it was going that way, I just don't remember my last one taking so long to start, you know? Last time it happened, I started cramping & bleeding the same day.
I get it. I've had a few CPs very early on. I would have never known, had I not been testing like a crazy woman.
Sometimes the CP will move into AF quickly, and sometimes it takes awhile. Once you get results from your doctor, I'd ask them how long you should wait for AF before following up. You may need help to get things going again.
Ya sounds like a CP. I was a few days late, tested 2 days in a row and got BFP's. The next day I started spotting and bled all weekend. I didn't consider it heavy but my periods are always light. Monday I went in last week for a blood draw and it was negative. I took an at home test and it was negative too. I'm sorry. It sucks and I felt like someone punched me in the heart. It was a complete surprise to us as I was not taking any ovulation meds so it sucked that we were super stoked it happened. And I had cramps all last week, even after the bleeding stopped. I don't know what's normal. They weren't really bad but enough to notice.
Trying for #3; FET 8/18 -- BFN. Leaving things up to chance for now... After three years, three IVFs, and two FETs, we finally have our miracle babIES!

I am sorry it did not work out Pam. Did you by chance use a blue dye test for the BFP? Those are the absolute worst for being hope-crushers. I hope you get a sticky BFP soon!
discogranny I used a Clearblue Easy digital test, the one that reads pregnant/not pregnant. For the tests after that, I used First Response digital.
POAS is an expensive habit. I like using the digital tests because I like the yes/no answers. I feel like with the line/no line tests, I would analyze every line to death. I suffer from "analysis paralysis" enough as it is lol.
