I'm not usually one who likes to air all her issues online, but I just wanted to ask for some T&Ps for my little girl and me for the next few weeks.
At 30 weeks, I went into the doctors and my doctor labeled me high risk because of growth restriction and I am now on weekly appointments to monitor my baby. She is only measuring 3 lbs which isn't too big of a deal as long as she gains a half a pound week, but I have also found out that my amniotic fluid is also incredibly low. According to the doc, I have got one pocket of good fluid left. So, if the fluid stays low, she will not get all of what she needs and might not grow like she should.
Basically, my doctor sat me down and prepared me to deliver by week 35 to 37 if this trend continues. Every week I will be having a NST and ultrasound to make sure my little girl is safe and sound.
With all that being said, I ended up in the hospital last night due to period like cramping. I am contracting, but not to the point where anything needs to be stopped, just monitored. But the contracting has already dilated me a centimeter. The did a Fetal Fibronectin Swab and that came out negative, so I probably won't go into labor on my own accord for the next two weeks. But that is not to say that I won't have to be induced or have a c-section due to the fluid and growth restriction.
MacKenzie was a small one where I was having to be monitored frequently, so the growth restricted news wasn't a HUGE shock, but the fluid is a new one for me. Needless to say, I am a big mess. This is all a lot to digest, especially trying to run after a two year old. Hopefully I will at least be able to hold on for the next two weeks, if not until full term, but please keep my family and me in your thoughts .
T&Ps to you. I was just in your boat (to a lesser degree) with a small baby, NSTs & lots of monitoring. I can understand how worry some this can be. Try to rest, put your feet up & keep that baby cooking.
Thanks all. My dd was 5lbs 7 oz at birth and lost the 7 oz when in the hospital. So I left with a 5 lbs peanut. All I can really do to increase amniotic fluid is drink tons and tons of water, which I am doing. But it's no guarantee that it will increase due to that. I am just taking it all easy and hoping for the best. I hope to keep her cooking as long as possible!
