So what we've all been waiting for was announced today - the next Xbox system. Though they didn't show many games and focused mostly on the other features, it seems like it will be much more powerful than the 360 and I'm excited to see what it can do. I'll definitely be pre-ordering it. Who else is excited?
The main downside is.... I think it is hideous in the pictures. It reminds me of a VCR player or some boxy ancient electronic appliance.
As it stands right now, I'm rather disappointed with the Xbox One. The lack of backwards compatibility is huge for me. I routinely purchase and play games from older systems, but I don't really have room to have multiple systems hooked up and ready to go (and I'm too lazy to switch them out every time). Really, it feels like a step backwards in that regard. I'm also worried about how the restrictions on used games are going to be implemented. It has the potential to conflict with some of my gaming habits.
I do like the Kinect being included. I don't mind it being required since it'll be included in the box.
Of course, I'm seeing a lot of conflicting information right now, so I'm trying to keep at open mind and wait for more details, but the current negatives are enough to keep me from buying the system.
I have lost all interest in Xbox in the last few years, it just seems limited, they always limit their systems, and it has left me with little interest in them. They are forcing players online, which you have to pay for, they are now trying to force you to buy only new games so you can get a code to play? It's bs. I called the 360 a money pit but this is a real money pit. I'll wait to the release to see how many get red ringed.
